Here I Am: Isley Meets Bacharach, I Think Am Falling In Love With It, What About You?

I think this is one of the most underrated albums of 2003. As I'm listening 2 it, I think it's really defining beauty. It should've got a Grammy, but that's OK. I haven't heard Ronald Isley sing like this ever. So, how do you feel about the album?

nod Well, I saw the special on P.B.S. and I must say that I was impressed with Ron's interpretation and delivery of Burt Bacharach's Catalougue. Your statement about it being underrated is quite accurate.

forget that. go with the Elvis Costello & Bacharach album, "Painted From Memory" .... all originals by the two, sung by Costello, and completely beautiful.

Nah. I'll pass. I am sorry but I am feeling Ron more so then Elvis Costello.

ronald is very smooth on this. then again, he's always smooth biggrin
it's easy to take music for granted. sometimes we forget or don't realize the creativity behind a song a person sings. i've never heard of bacharach, but all of these songs i've listened to as a kid (and like). smile

Elvis Costello can't sing for toffee but then neither can Burt.

I agree - this is a fantastic album. A jazz version of covers was released at the same time as Burt and Elvis' original interpretations but I've never heard it.
