Lenny's message board is the WORST.
But it's not as bad as you think. There's actually like 2 losers on there with like 8 logons a piece and all they do is rag on Len everyday. http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts

I've always thought the lyrics could be stronger, plus we've heard this song over and over again on that cute commercial. Now, it's like ... oh, that's the Gap song. Anyway, I think he should have released California, Flash, or even the slow What Did I do with My Life. His performances of Lady have been the worst. I've been shocked, frankly. Regardless of how i feel about the single choice, it is soo uncool to bitch on the man's board -- oh wait, I guess I do that with Prince sometimes ...

Yeah, I used to go to Lenny's site, but these 2 assholes have like 16 screennames and dog the shit out of him. I got so tired of posting serious topics but always getting "Lenny sucks" as a reply. So I stopped going there. Problem is his site has no moderators, so people are free to say whatever they want really. But I agree that Lady is not the best choice for a single. And at the AMA's, it was awful. I mean, Lady is only a 4-chord song and the solo is nothing but a bar. It's not that hard to play, but what does Lenny do? Mess it up somehow. Don't understand how you can. (Oh, and people, don't get me wrong because I play several instruments, so don't think I'm just saying "So and so is easy to play" and notknowing how to play it myself). He actually did release California as a single in the summer. It's amazing to me that it never took off. Cali is a good song. Catchy lyrics, good melody. I don't know sometimes. But it is better than that "Where Are We Runnin'?" crap. He also released Storm to urban radio, and that hasn't taken off either. Lenny has just become too cliche, pop-commercial over the last couple of years. Maybe that's why he ain't doing so hot. But yeah, if there was one more single, I would like it to be Flash. That's a straight-up Stones lick right there. Good song! Although... I hear he wants to release Minister Of Rock N Roll (like that'll do any good...)

wow,I'm gonna have to check out his site
Seriously, you see this type of stuff on EVERY artist's message boards. For the most part, these are just bored people who aren't even fans. They enjoy going on a fansite and starting shit, pissing off the real fans.We see it all the time, right here on Prince.org.

I don't see anything wrong with dogging your favorite artist sometimes. Hey, no one person is perfect. I can't think of any artist where someone likes every little single thing that artist has ever done. [Edited 11/19/04 2:13am] Andy is a four letter word.

"sistamamalover" should be! that song rocks! funky as hell and i love the guitar solo!

I really like the guitar in Sistamamalover. I was very disappointed with Baptism but funny how Lenny's songs always seem to hook up with some sort of advertisement and then before you know it the song you you skipped (Lady) is now the song you're sing all the time.
When I first got Baptism there was not one track I cared about. Now I can actually stomach sistamamalover, Lady, California, Where Are We Runnin' and Storm (remix only!). That's 0 to 5 in six months! Anyway, I never understood people who purposely went to the message board of an artist they didn't like to just continuously bash. If I don't like Ashanti, why would I hang out at her message board??? Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Anyway, I never understood people who purposely went to the message board of an artist they didn't like to just continuously bash. If I don't like Ashanti, why would I hang out at her message board??? Well, apparently the dude who's doing all the bashing is some ex-fan who claims to have gone to a Lenny concert and Lenny cancelled the show he was going to (ie: The "Disaster Tour" 2002) and this guy never got a refund for his ticket. Everyone knows you should go to TicketMaster or whoever you bought the ticket from if you want a refund rather than the artist's own site. Well, it's not like Lenny ever drops by... As for Baptism, I wasn't disappointed at all. Sure, a lot of the songs are more commercial, but I think this album was a great improvement from that self-titled piece of crapola he put out. Although, a lot of his music nowadays I feel is just put out to be put out. I mean, look at the lyrics nowadays... It's like he half-assed them just t make a record. Prince too. Compare them to, say, when he first started out, like Let Love Rule. Now, that's a solid album. But I loved the Sistamamalover solo the first time I heard it. I was like, WOW! I don't like the song I Don't Wanna Be A Star but I popped the CD in my car and was listening to it (all of it for the essence) and was amazed by the solo at the very end. Still don't like the song, but the solo rocks. I honestly do think Flash should be the next single, if any more...

i don't know. if he hasn't done it by now, maybe he never will. I wonder what his reaction would be if he read those messages? why were they saying nasty things about george michael anyway? what did he do?

I'm pretty sure, as in 90% sure that his next album will be the funk project, which should be very interesting. Lenny said that it would be very non-commercial, which, if he stays true to his promise, is very good! On his Live DVD, they show the band rehearsing some of the funk material and it sounded good! BlackMiles said: What happen to cindy blackmon why did she leave the band?
Cindy wanted to do her own thing with her own group, so she left in persue of that. With the release of Baptism, an album, to Lenny, signifying a rebirth musically and spiritually, he hooked up with his drummer Zoro who was with him when Let Love Rule came out. Getting back with Zoro is kind of reviving, or revisiting yourself, more or less. Because Lenny said that he felt the connection between the two albums.

I really hope this album comes out next. i would definitely check it out. I see Lenny as being much more funky than comercial. Maybe he'll get some credibiltiy and respect back.
