holy crap, are you joshin' me??? for goodness' sake, try amazon.com - you can get both reissues for a measly $25 - and that includes shipping (free shipping for orders over twenty five bucks!).

I kid you not - I'll probably end up ordering from Amazon.ca. I don't think Canadians can order from Amazon.com when the items are available on the Canadian version (could be wrong, though - I'll have to look into that). Unfortunately Slanted and Crooked aren't bundled on the Canadian site. Slanted is coupled with Pig Lib and Crooked is with Wowee Zowee.

i've tried to get into neu - an ex of mine tried to get me into them - and while i find them interesting, i think that i only have the mental capacity to fully appreciate either neu or can, and i choose can. yeah, that's arbitrary and pathetic, but that's just how it is. though maybe one day i'll give 'em another shot - after all, emperor tomato ketchup is one of my favorite records!

Odd how perceptions can differ - I actually find Neu much more approachable than Can (though I love Can too, obviously, given my username and all...). Neu always struck me as the most immediately likeable Kraut-rock band - I find them to be perfect apartment-cleaning music.

That's why there's Kraftwerk. Everyone can agree on that. mr.green

damosuzuki said:[quote]Well, I just returned from my shopping trip, and pardon me if I bitch for a little while...I visited five retailers – three of them did not have either album, while A&B Sound and Best Buy had both editions in stock. However, they were priced at $21.99 (Best Buy) and $19.99 (A&B), and I’m just too innately stingy with my money to spend that much on albums I already own. Sigh…welcome to my life as a Canadian consumer – fewer choices and higher prices. quote]
That's strange that the prices would be so much more than they are at Best Buy here. Where do you live?

Do you have the Can remasters? I have some of the originals, but not the newest ones that just came out. Are they worth it?

Winnipeg (AKA Canada's armpit)...

Prices are generally higher up here, but I wasn't expecting it to be that much. Of course, you have to factor in the currency exchange rate: $21.99 CDN = $18.44 USD going by yesterday's rate. Still a $3.50 difference...

I can send you copies if you're not concerned with the packaging and mostly want the music.

I haven't picked up any of the remasters yet. I was fairly pissed to find out about them because I'd just bought the old edition of Monster Movie right before they were announced. I'm definitely going to pick up Tago Mago - I only have that one on vinyl, and it's on its last legs.

That would be greatly appreciated. I'll send you a note - perhaps we could do an exchange if I have anything in which you'd be interested...
