Dirty DAncing Soundtrack! OK I know back in 1987 (I was 12) everyone had seen and loved DITRY DANCING and the soundtrack was selling off the shelves like crazy. Do any of you Dirty Dancing lovers still listen to the soundtrack once in a while? Ok, I give up, I'm listening to it right now. I even bought the 20th anniversary DVD that has the 1988 live concert on it (THIS is actually pretty cheesy-even for its time).
Contrary to the 80s awesomely bad show on VH-1, I think Patrick Swayze's SHE'S LIKE THE WIND is a beautiful song. HUNGRY EYES is another great one...I'll go one step further and also ask if anyone purchased/still listens to the MORE DIRTY DANCING soundtrack... Hey purple....
I own the cd and the double disk CD of the movie.. Did i mention i saw this move like 300 times.. I watched it every day with my cousin when we were younger for like 3 summers... MY all time favorite flick! I think i had the tapes back when the movie came out. Both Dirty Dancing and More Dirty Dancing.. It was kind of cheesy, but it was good... ANd yes she's like the wind was beautiful!! I still love some songs from the soundtracks.... Yep, I've got both soundtracks, and still listen to them occasionally. Haven't watched the film in quite a while (maybe a year) but have 2 copies of it. I don't know why I feel ashamed admitting this, probably because I should know better, but I love Dirty Dancing. I felt a great affinity with it when it came out - I used to work in a holiday centre every summer so I guess I just felt it (sort of) reflected holiday centre life.
Years ago I bought the Dirty Dancing Concert Tour on VHS through a well known and much hated music club, it was so bad I sent it back claiming I'd never ordered it. I have no idea how many times I've watched the film, at one stage it was every day. Suffice to say, I can still quote the entire script verbatim. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP. | |
