Ok now, Rizner did write some cool songs that sounded influenced by P. So, I would say that NIN is relevant. The song that really caught me attention was Closure.

I'm bummed about Closure not getting a release date till 2005...I can't wait to get that footage of Trent and Bowie doing "Hurt" together on DVD. nod

With Teeth? I think Bleed Through was a better title, personally.

Hmmm,I guess it's safe to say that Trent is a perfectionist. I think "with teeth" is just Trent trying to explain the direction of NIN's upcoming output. I wouldn't really take it seriously as a song or album title. Oh well, I'm looking forward to the re-release of The Downward Spiral.

I'll be there. Whenever Trent gets it together.
Dark, real and cool are 3 words to describe NIN to me.

Why would someone post on a thread about a band they don't like, I'll never understand. shrug

i dunno if i'm ready for a Downward Spiral reissue...the original version is still too tasty for me. it sounds great, the packaging is sublime, and as for the bonus stuff, i like the way the CD singles for DS were arranged too much to feel that i'd really enjoy selections from them on a second CD. trent really got it right the first time around, i don't know if the time is right to re-package it.

a remastered, spiffed-up version of PRETTY HATE MACHINE, on the other hand... smile

But just think about listening to that album in surround sound--all that incredible noise coming from five speakers... drool

Thanks for the update Neversin!

I'm still not trying to hold my breath until there's a definite date or it's in my hands.

The Downward Spiral reissue sounds great, but I'm still wishing there wasn't a delay on the Closure DVD.

I wouldn't be surprised if With Teeth is just a working title for the final direction of the album-given how Trent is rarely satisfied until the final minute (sometimes I wonder if even that), it could be changed again.

There really is no telling with Trent-I do like Anx's idea of a Pretty Hate Machine reissue though.

I'd enjoy a Broken reissue-package it with an unrated DVD of the entire Broken movie I'd be in heaven.

I just hope it's not like The Fragile.

The Fragile actually makes me tired when I listen to it.

The thought The Downward Spiral was Trent at his best. Angry, Fierce, but with some artsy fartsiness thrown in. When he tips the scales too much in one direction, it makes for interesting listening, but also tends to be too much for me.

But a remastered, re conceptualized Pretty Hate Machine? Hell Yeah!

I used to be a huge HUGE fan of NIN. I followed everything up through Downward Spiral and all the singles/EP's for that album. But I totally lost interest after that and sold everything. By the time "Perfect Drug" came out, I had all but forgotten him and haven't thought about him since. Sometimes you just completely wear something out. I've always meant to go back and give "The Fragile" a chance. Maybe this new one will grab my attention.

"the fragile" is nice, but it's not immediate gratification like "downward spiral" or "pretty hate machine"....though i think there are songs that smack you in the head right off the bat, like "starfuckers, inc.", and to be honest, those songs kinda ruin the flow of the album for me. i like the noodley experimental soundscape stuff, and i thought it was fabulous that trent collaborated with mike garson on this album. i wasn't a big fan of "the fragile" when it first came out, but i gotta say - i think it's aging really well.

I saw part of the DVD concert for that album. And I must admit, it looked pretty great. Different and a big step forward for him.

That's weird... that's exactly what happened with me. I think the last thing I actually bought was the ep that followed Downward. Never stopped liking him really, just never felt compelled to buy him any more. Before I was pretty fanatical.
Change it one more time..
