T.G.I.L.A.M.B. With all of the lackluster releases being shoved down our throats this 4th Quarter 2004 music season (like Destiny's Child & Eminem), it makes me more thankful for Gwen Stefani's latest offering "Love. Angel. Music. Baby."
I am currently in love with all of the tracks I've heard -- especially "Cool," "Danger Zone," "Crash," "Hollaback Girl" and "Bubble Pop Electric" -- such great songs. I'm going to buy my copy on Tuesday for sure. Thanks Gwen! I thought 4th Quarter was gonna suck this year! ::wipes sweat from brow::: Makes my year-end list better.

It seemed like the only things worth going to the CD store this 4th qaurter were all hits sets and a few DVDs (ATHF 3 might be the best set). I look forward to getting this disc just based on the frist single.

Once L.A.M.B. comes out, my record buying'll be done for the year. I think I'm done as well. I seriously can't afford to buy albums that might be good anymore. It isn't worth it.

[Edited 11/20/04 14:06pm] ok...it seems to be working now. I see it and I pass. I like what I've heard of the new single (on those Ipod commeicals) but that's not enough. I realy never got into U2. I think I had "Rattle and Hum" and sold it.

I just got my copy, my local store is very bad and got their shipment on friday and started selling it.
Well first of ALL this is one of the albums of the year! My fav track has to be "Hollaback girl"!!!!! and "luxrious" which gwen just sings over "between the sheets" by the Isley bRothers (she used identical production to "BIG POPPA" by Notoriou b.i.g) Rich Girl is also awesome dre dr's best production is a long while, The whole thing is MIND BLOWINGLY funky! It's BANNANAS!!!! THIS SHIT IS BANNANAS!!! Only thing stoping this from been album of the year or my only critism is lyrically it lacks ANY depth, Gwen did say it's a dance/party album and it's NOT really a solo album, more a Dance project. . I haven't heard the record either, but from what I read, they just appear on one track.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Why couldn't Jam & Lewis produce a track like "Harajuku Girls" for Janet? I was so surprised when I found out J&L produced that song for Gwen. I mean, damn, I feel really cheated stylistically as a Janet fan. They're capable of producing stuff like "Harajuku Girls," yet they give us sh*te like "Warmth" and "Feels So Right"?
With the next Janet record, f*ck it, Jam & Lewis needs to take us back to that Minneapolis funk!! Janet get back on them keyboards! ::wishful thinking:: Madness! [Edited 11/21/04 6:19am]

When I first heard "Hollaback Girl", Prince's "Housequake" came to mind.
The rhytmic pattern sounded quite similar to my ears. Regardless, I can imagine this particular song being performed at a lot of pep rallies.

About time someone else mentioned it! When I hear it, I picture a ghetto pep rally with some cheerleaders stomping their feet, doing drill team-style dance moves on a basketball court. I think of the East Compton Clovers workin' this out! I can so hear this being played at a hip hop club.
