Selling more records from six feet under

does anybody think Ray Charles would have 2 albums in the Billboard top 100, let alone the Top 10 if he hadn't died recently, especially since one of them "Ray" Soundtrack is not even new material. What about Tupac? Elvis? Aaliyah? John Lennon? Why do people sometimes feel the need to run and support artists posyhumously that they probably wouldn't have when they were alive? Will all those Prince supposedly "sub-par" recordings suddenly become collector's items?
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

I don't know.

But, a few weeks ago on VH1 Sinatra, Elvis, and Ray Charles were having "The Best Week Ever!" razz thumbs up!

I know that I wanted to buy the last Alliyah album when it first came out and then bought it later (possibly, right after it was reported she died...I don't remember now). Anyway, I think people go out and rush to buy the stuff becuase they realize this might be the last original thing you hear from them (in the case of Tupac, a promise made all the time) or in the case of collections, the media kind of reminds you of their work and then you fall in love with it for the first time or all over again. Either way, it works.

His music would have had this charting resurgence had he not died as long as the movie was released. HOW MUCH of a charting resurgence without his death, I've no idea.

Don't know what they have until it's gone. People take others for granted, no matter how great they're told they are.
