Interesting....

Interesting....Destiny's Child's new album debuted on Billboard this week at #19. Kind of surprised. Has the U.S. had enough of overexposed Beyonce?

Aah and just last month, Duran Duran debuted at #17....love my boys! heart

Man, not that I ever read chart listings but iam surprised too.....

but, liked I said, Beyonce is just going through what MJ did with the jacksons after "off the wall" and later "thriller"! She is proberly doing this album out of guilt and, like the later jacksons albums, the singles may do well, but the albums not that well depsite being good albums! (The later jacksons albums r underated in my opinion!)

Justin Timberlake has avoided this.....Beyonce and Michael did not.....but this is still better 4 the fans though!

Duran Duran...real music for real music lovers, so ofcourse they started higher as DC!

But I must say, Beyonce is very talented.... as a solo artist I like her more...

That isn't bad at all. What happened was that the album was released early due to bootlegging and nobody really knew about it. Next week they are looking to sell between 400-500k, so this means nothing.

DC's last album SURVIVOR debuted in the top 5! #19 is bad for a group supposedly still in their prime...for a comeback group like DD, #17 is VERY IMPRESSIVE.

THESE. ARE. STREET. DATE. VIOLATIONS.

The album was pushed forward one day to Monday to try and compensate. It will be huge this week.

a #19 debut on one day of sales is pretty impressive.

They were a week's worth of sales before the album was even released.

It had its official release on Monday the 15th, which is the beginning of a new sales week and so isn't counted in the debut figures.

Tuesday is the beginning of a new sales week, isn't it?

Monday to Sunday.

Tuesday is the day most new albums are released, however.

Eminem's was pushed forward to Friday, and had 3 days of sales to debut at #1 (Fri, Sat, and Sun.)

are you sure about that? i thought that's why Tuesday was chosen as the universal release date because the Soundscan week starts on Tuesday. releasing albums on Tuesday when the sales week starts on Monday makes no sense.

Read this:

http://www.billboard.com/...1000720814

Although it was legitimately available for just three days during the sales reporting week, Eminem's "Encore" moved enough copies to easily bow at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. Released on Friday in an effort to combat widespread piracy, the rapper's latest Shady/Aftermath/Interscope set sold 711,000 copies in the United States through Sunday, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Albums typically hit stores on Tuesdays, allowing six days of sales for new releases. It has become common in recent years for labels to move up release dates or to issue major albums on off-cycle days to thwart pirated copies.
