Brian Wilson just pips Frank Zappa into 3rd place. (Today, at least!)
Not so long ago, I would have had James Brown at number 2, but first Miles discovered rhythm, now he discovers melody and harmony!! I like to evolve as a listener. JB is still hangin' in there at number 4, tho, but with Duke Ellington closing in! I love the Duke madly! Let's hear it and quit!

And there seem to be many on here who hold him in the same esteem as Prince. About time someone else gave Uncle Dayvid a shout-out! I knew you'd come through, GangstaFam. Can we count that as your vote then? I mean really, is there anyone else?

Sananda Maitreya!!!!! It's great to see so many others here are also into Sananda. The man makes brilliant music. For whatever it's worth, I'm also a huge fan of the Beatles, Sting, and Hendrix. [Edited 11/17/04 13:23pm]

Understandable. I'm not even sure I can give Prince the #1 spot anymore. It hasn't always been that way, but in the last 5 years or so, Bowie's had me.

I constantly go back and forth...this year was more of a Prince year, though Bowie was right there behind him. There have been years when I've been a Bowie geek all the way and all my Prince CDs just collect dust, and vice versa...usually though, it's pretty much a 50/50 deal. If there were ever a "Bowie.org" that were anywhere near as addictive as this place, I'd be sunk.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've tried with the forums on Teenage Wildlife and others, but they just don't compare. I just get lost in the mix there and don't get a sense of who I'm virtually conversing with. The org is such a fun, colorful playground compared to other sites I've seen.

There is just something about Tori that puts her #1 for me... but Prince, Bowie, Beatles/Lennon are all right there.

I know what you mean. When I get in Tori mode, nobody else stands a chance. I push everyone else aside and stick with her for months.

I'm the same way, and I feel it coming on w/ the new album and tour.... The Cure is the same for me. When Join the Dots came out, I ate/slept/breathed The Cure for weeks. Now with the reissues.... It's hard to have an overall #1. For me, though, if I have to choose one, it is Tori.

For me, though, if I have to choose one, it is Tori. Exactly. My brother Moonbeam and I call it a Cure kick. You can just feel it coming on sometimes, even when you haven't listened to them for awhile. It doesn't necessarily take anything to trigger it either. Just all of a sudden you HAVE to have some Cure.

I'm not even really sure who's #3 in my book...I think after Prince and Bowie, there are just a whole bunch of folks I love equally. Right this second it's probably Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, mainly because I'm so thrilled with the new records....
...not to mention he's a sexy bitch.
