Ok, I thought the opening was pretty weak. Didn't like the Gwen Stefani song, and why has nobody mentioned Lenny's obvious cocking up of his guitar solos. He played a horribly bum note and did try to rescue it, but it was embarassing none the less.

Some performers were good, but far too many mediocre ones. That Snoop song was far too monotonous for a prime-time awards show. Dull.

I missed the Prince segment. Had to listen to my wife tell me about it in broken English. Ah well, always the Grammys.

Oh yeah, and Jamie Foxx can sing!!! Damn.

I think the surprise guest was Jaime Foxx, but I'm not sure. I was surprised! He was really good. He did a piano intro, which included a line from Do Me Baby, he sang and rapped. I thought, next thing you know he's going to have a record deal, like J-lo: From In Living Colour to acting to a record deal.

He does have a record deal now,He was signed about a month ago to a label I forget which one
He has released an album before. I like it. But it didnt get noticed ,I think he released it independently
He's very talented

His 1st cd "Peep This" was on Motown, he is now signed to J Records

I had a hard time figuring out if Jessica was live or memorex but it was all for nothing. She was still awful.

I agree Fantashia was surprisingly the best performer of the show. But she might wanna rethink the "yeah yeah yeah's".

I missed the first 45 minutes or so, but I thought Alicia's performance of Karma was great. Finally, someone does it right! The live version was better than the record, as well as different from the original. Kinda reminded me of the way Prince used to do it back in the days. The rest of the show sucked. Usher isn't gay. His mother is his manager. Ask Chilli if Usher is gay; bet she knows. wink
Who the hell is this new country chick? The Trailer Park goes AMA! LOL!

I thought I was the only one who noticed. I was saying to myself that Lenny should leave the solos to Craig Ross. He seemed pissed by the way he walked off the stage afterwards. Read in the NY Post that he blamed his guitar tech for f***ing up his sound. Supposedly, he stormed into his trailer and refused to come out.

About the song - I didn't know that was a real song. I thought it was just something he came up with for that commercial with Sarah Jessica Parker.

One thing I've always noticed about Lenny - when he does play guitar solos, he never improvises. He always plays "by the book". Never deviates from the recorded solo. It's like you can almost see him thinking as he plays. When he was doing the talk show circuit promoting that song "Again", there was no deviation from the script, so to speak. Every version was interchangeable... I was disappointed when he played along with Alicia Keys and Stevie at the MTV awards. I thought he was gonna do his thang...

I've always wondered if he can really get down and play. Really play. Say like in an off the cuff jam session. I just wanna see him for once forget about the image, lookin' good and all that and get his rocks off!
