John Lennon For all those guitarists out there(especially if you are at the beginning of this beautiful experience)Get John Lennon's Acoustic album. It is a great cd. Although the sound quality is not the best on most traks, it is a refreshing collection of songs. The booklet even gives you the chords Lennon used in that particular version. It even gives you the position of the capo on some of the songs. It is great fun and you will discover different vibes to some of the songs you already know. Btw, the version of Dear Yoko on this disc is far superior to the one on double fantasy, even with the flat sound.(Youv'e got to remember these tracks were recorded by John on a tape recorder or the original tapes were just not taken care of since they were not masters). And the remastered Rock'n'Roll Rocks. All we need now is Walls and Bridges.

I wasnt too keen on this release.. saw it as pointless. When the majority of the album came from the anthology set. most of the album is poor quality. I think the idea was in good intention, but the context has been recycled.

Thanks, but I'll wait. Nothing new, heard it all before. Kind of a let down. I'm depressed.

This cd is really for the die hard fan or (in the case I was trying to make) the guitarist that is just starting out. I will be buying this as a gift for all of those that I've been teaching what I know about music. These are great songs and those "students" will certainly appreciate the lack of production on them. I think that was the context in which this cd was put together. Rock'n'Roll on the other hand, is worth getting if you are a music fan and want to update your music collection. Like the other remasters it sounds great. Phil Spector's wall of sound is taken down a bit and the songs sound clearer.

I will probably just burn a version of this cd from the Anthology.
Actually, I heard that there is another Live in NY that kicks the released version's ass. A couple of songs are on the Anthology. Supposedly the released album & video are from a dress rehearsal and the real show wasn't released by Yoko. Rehearsal or not, I love that video. Check this song out at:

Wasn't he killed on December 8th? Or did he actually die on the 9th?
