Any Skyy Fans?

Are there any Skyy fans out there? Skyy has so many jams that I like. I remember a remix of "Call Me" back in the day that had pieces of "Skyyzoo" mixed in. I have looked everywhere for it and cannot find it. I'm wondering if it was an official 12 Inch or that was a DJ remix that I heard back then.

Anyway, my favorite Skyy jams are:

Call Me
Jam The Box
Superlove
Skyyzoo
Movin' Violation
Givin' It (To You)
Skyyzoo
Let's Turn It Out
Let's Celebrate
When You Touch Me
Andy is a four letter word.

"though your girlfriend is a friend of mine
here's my number and a dime...call me anytime"

I like the 1980 hit "Here's To You".Jamiroquai included this song last year on a compilation of their favorite songs titled "Late Nite Tales".And let's not forget about "High",also from 1980.

I also loved their 89 ballad "Real Love" in addition to all the aforementioned.
I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back.
I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.
I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish.
And I am

Hey I may as well post the lyrics to the infamous "Call Me" lol

Sittin’ here
Couldn’t help hear you talkin’ to your best friend
Said you’re not satisfied
Things ain’t workin’ out with your girlfriend

So you’re searchin’ for someone new
Someone to hold you tight, someone to treat you right
Though you’re girlfriend’s a friend of mine
Here’s my number and a dime, call me anytime

{Call me} If you need someone to talk to
{Call me} Satisfaction guaranteed
{Call me} If you need someone to talk to
{Call me} Call me

She wasn’t good to you (No)
Wasn’t true to you (No)
Don’t like to do the things you like to do
She doesn’t do to you (Uh-uh)
What she did to you (Uh-uh)
Show you lovin’ like she used to

Well, I’ve been watchin’ you, boy
And I got what you want, got what you need
Though you’re girlfriend’s a friend of mine
Here’s my number and a dime, call me anytime

{Call me} If you need someone to talk to
{Call me} Satisfaction guaranteed
{Call me} If you need someone to talk to
{Call me} Call me

Hello
How you doin’
You know she’s gone and I figured I’d give you a call and see if you could see me
(Uh-huh, well)
Hey, I tell you what
Maybe can we can get together and talk about it (Uh-huh)
Just me and you
You know I got this little place that I’d like to go to
It’s kinda dark and quiet

Well, I’ve been watchin’ you, boy
And I got what you want, got what you need
Though you’re girlfriend’s a friend of mine
Here’s my number and a dime, call me anytime

{Call me} If you need someone to talk to
{Call me} Satisfaction guaranteed
{Call me} If you need someone to talk to
{Call me} Call me

{Call me} If you need someone to talk to
{Call me} Satisfaction guaranteed
{Call me} If you need someone to talk to
{Call me} Call me

Call me any ol’ time

You know that I’m the one you need
You know that I’m the one you need
You know that I’m the one you need
You know that I’m the one you need

Call me any ol’ time

Ow
She doesn’t treat you
What she used to do
She doesn’t treat you
Like she used to do, no

Here’s my number and a dime
You can call me anytime
Here’s my number and a dime
Call me any ol’ time, yeah, yeah

She doesn’t do to you
What she used to
She doesn’t do to you
What she, what she, what she used to, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

{Call me}
{Call me}
{Call me}
{Call me}

{Call me}
{Call me}
Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight
Just let me rock you 'til the morning liiiiiiight
It's cold outside
And much too late to driiiiiiiive
You know I need you baby

SKYY BROUGHT the "disco funk"! their music was definitely what I would call "party music" - fun, very accessible & easy to get into &/or get a party started with.

my favorite Skyy jams :

Skyzoo - that STOMPIN' kick drum, that percussive rhythm guitar.. even those "skyzoos" added something to the song

Call Me - EXCELLENT, infectious bass/synth line; the instantly recognizable trademark of this jam. I prefer the longer version..

Let's Celebrate - reminds me of a lot of Chic's better songs, that sort of "sophisticated" dance music. good lead vocal by Soloman Roberts

Here's To You - very smooth. very nice.

Superlove - frisky, high-end synths & FUNKY slap/pluck bassline. & Soloman's growly "come here"

they need to do a "reunion tour". I'd probably pay as much as $50 to see them live, provided that all (or most) of the original members were in it.
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

lol

Do you remember the 1984 hit "Don't Waste Your Time" by Yarbrough and Peoples? It uses the same approach...

"don't waste your time...SHE'S MY FRIEND and I tell you she ain't no good"

some friend,huh? lol

what's really funny is...she has to give the guy a dime to call her! Is he a cheap bastard or what?
