I LOOOOOVE her album Stripped!!!! I think it´s amazing and believe me, I would have never thought that I´d be listening to her, but she´s an amazing singer!!! BUT I kinda agree with this..
But a woman with such a voice doesn't have to act that slutty???
I never understood WHY the hell did she do Dirty song/video, but besides that as a singer I have nothing but respect and admiration!!! But on the other hand I must admit that the lyrics of the rest of the songs on the Stripped album are cool! So actually it all comes down just to that Dirty video, but otherwise she´s OK! I'm not a Christina hater at all (I think I prefer Britney though) but you can't compare her to Janet or Madonna becuase they made great records and aren't known for their vocals, which Christina is. In the case of Christina, she is an excellent singer but, in the case of the first album for sure (well, first few if you include the demo disc, Christmas CD, and Spainglish CD), she wasn't in on writing muisc and lyrics or creating the record. Madonna always had a pretty big hand in at least the songwriting of her albums and once "Control" came out, it was the same for Janet. I don't hate on Christina at all, but she doesn't do the same thing as Madonna and Janet, YET! Once she starts getting a producer credit, then we can talk about Christina in comparison to Madonna and Janet. | |

Well, personally speaking, I don't hate her, but I am definitely not a fan. I guess there are a couple of reasons I don't like her. 1) I'm not a fan of her songs. That may sound obvious, but most of her music I just don't like, therefore I don't like her. (I must admit that I do love the song "Come On Over" I don't know why, but I do) 2) I HATE the way she sings. To be fair, I'm not familiar with most of her work, just the radio songs, but it seems to me that she is a little over the top. I think she'd do well to tone done the vocal histrionics just a bit. Her image doesn't really bother me either way, but it is kind of odd that she needs to be so visual when she is obviously talented. | |

She may not be Madonna or Janet, but who is. Of the prefab-pop crowd she had the most edgy image, and, imho, she had the best first 'mature' cd of them all. and I didn't mind the "dirrty-era" at all. Sure it was nasty, but it seemed real nastiness, which is good
