Why do I get the impression that certain people here on the org. can not apprieciate this young lady's talent?

Besides the "Dirrty" era, why do people think she is some kind of whore/slut? When Madonna bares her T & A, it's labeled as being "creative" and "re-inventing" herself? -Which in my opinion, is a bunch of bullshit.

Sure Christina sings "pop songs", but thats what she is, a pop singer. Nobody can deny that she has an amazing voice and truth be told she would blow Madonna and Janet off the fuckin' stage!

True, Madonna and Janet recorded, in the past, better songs. But damn, Christina has only been in the business for a handful of years and look what she has accomplished... In my opinion, she doesn't have to bare her genitals to get anyones attention! Can anyone say Madonna's book, nicely titled, "SEX"? where was the music in that and what in the hell was so creative about it?

I'm not bashing Madonna or Janet, but damn cut my girl some slack... please. cuz, I honestly believe that she will be around a long, long time.

Nobody denies Christina's singing ability, and if they do then they're deaf.

The reason why people like Madonna and Janet is because they've written better songs, and are more entertaining to watch. On top of that, they were both revolutionary.

Christina IMO, though she has a better voice was tacked onto Britney's success and you can tell by her early videos.

I'm not one to defend Madonna but the difference between what Madonna was doing and what Christina A and Britney and the rest of the crew are doing is substance. Madonna used her sexuality as a form of power and art (in her own twisted way) where Christina uses hers to sell FHM and really hasn't got a clue what she's doing, she comes across as a lost little girl

Back to the topic of this thread, which was Christina Aguilera.....

I really like her, although I think she's searching too hard for an "image". She obviously can sing, but much like Mariah, she doesn't know how to temper her voice or use it conservatively. She needs to learn how to reign over a song, and not vice versa. When she does, and the melisma is gone, her records will certainly sound more interesting.

I think the difference between Christina and Madonna is...

Christina shows a little flesh when she has a new record or tour to promote. Whenever Madonna showed some skin it was simply to promote Madonna.
