Man, the 2002 Herbie Hancock Box packaging sucks, anyone agrees?

I bought this box set today and I have no idea how to get it open again. The first time I opened it, the discs fell and that is the most crappy thing ever. Can anyone else talk about this because Columbia/Epic did a very poor job with this one. I listened to discs 1 and 2 today and it sounds very good. The packaging is just crap. Anyone has this problem?

I got that set a couple of years ago. It's a very nice overview of Hancock's career with a few rare trax ( at least, rare in the U.S.)...

However, Yes, the box is pretty silly.Cool to look at,but barely functional after opening...

I put the CDs in a CD wallet thingie...

DIG THAT 17-Minute "Red Clay"!!!!!

I guess I'll have to run out and get some jewel cases because I had trouble replacing the CD's back in that plastic box.

I was so ticked off about it I sent it back after ordering it. If memory serves me something was cracked, tho it wasn't a cd.

Somebody either tried too hard or not hard enough.

I wouldn't even recommend you buy the thing on the internet. The box is made of plastic and I bought mine from the music store. I heard that Columbia reissued this set on September 14, 2004 with special packaging, dang, didn't even know that.

I forgot about that...It was re-released in a longbox. Some of the Miles sets were re-released that way also.
