Remember CHANTE MOORE?

Now that was a singing girl! clapping Not only was she beautiful but she could truely sing! music Im listening to her song "Bitter" right now, and this was right around the time when she was dating Jermaine Dupri and she was in the music music videos almost going down the hoochie road. Im glad she didnt and instead married Kenny Latimore.
I also loved her scat song on the "Waiting To Exhale" soundtrack. "Wey U" nod
Does anyone else remember her besides me?

sad I should've expected the hatred. sigh Ok, I can understand your intense dislike of that song as it wasnt exactly one of her bests, but thats definetely not a reason to wish strep throat on the girl. She still has a golden voice. nod

Hey I know "Wey U". Did Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produce "Chante's Got A Man"?

stfu I love that song!

For some reason I never got rid of her cd's yet I NEVER listen to them. I think I like the quality of her voice (very sweet) but her songs can be boring as fuck.

falloff

You are not alone in your opinion. Acutally, the only songs that I can tolerate by her are Bitter and Love Has Taken Over. Other than those 2 songs, I could give 2 shits about her myself b/c her voice isn't that spectacular.

her earlier music was nice but when she tried to New Jill Swing it up she lost me...I do think the album with her husband has some redeeming qualities.

"It's alright" & "Now that love's taken over" were my jams.

Her first two albums 'Precious'(1992) and 'A Love Supreme'(1994) are excellent!

Exactly, and that's why I only like her first two albums. After that, she began working with "commercial" producers like Jam and Lewis and Jermaine Dupree, and her music began to sound formulaic, like everything else on the radio. She used to have a classy image and I envisioned her as the new Diana Ross. But I lost interest when she did that awful song with R.Kelly and the Isleys disbelief

Interesting isn't it. She has the baby by him first. Then, they get married and his ass cheats. Oh well, she still found a fine good catch w/Kenny. Eventhough I don't care for her vocally, I still wish her well with her career and marriage.

I always thought Chante Moore had a pleasant voice and appearance. She had some trips during her collabos with Jermaine Dupri and that RKelly/Mr. Big travesty but for the most part I think she's done well. A new album would be nice.

Chante's first two albums are her best to date. I saw Jam and Lewis being interviewed and they said they wanted to switch up her style a little...Chante's Got A Man was born when Chante' showed up in the studio and in the midst of conversation she said something to the extent...don't be mad because I have a man at home...Jam and Lewis ran with it and created the song. She had a mini concert on BET when she first debuted and it was excellent. Until the music industry changes and start to promote real singers, artist like Chante' Moore will never have a chance to shine. I think Jam and Lewis are very talented and could give her some really good songs that would display her vocal ability, Jermaine Dupri on the other hand should'nt be working with artist like Chante' Moore. I saw her on Soul Train singing new lyrics over "The Thong Song" with Da Brat rapping on it, that is so not her style...of course Jermaine Dupri produced it.
Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight

I totally agree. I love Chante Moore!! She has a beautiful voice and she hits those high notes so sweetly!! I'm glad she married Kenny Lattimore!! They are a beautiful couple and they harmonize so well!! They were acting in off-Broadway plays. Chante also collaborated with Prince and Lenny Kravitz on their albums. The first two albums were slammin'. I loved "Sexy Thang"!! That jam should have been a hit, because she is so sexy sounding on it and she sings about her man's sexuality!! I don't know why certain people love to hate on others. Shows they have no character and they're miserable, and probably others hate on them!!! Love you Chante!! Hope to hear more from you!!

Then again, I'm still getting over Eric Benet cheating on Halle...

I guess when you can get any hot woman you want, the Halles and the Chantes just look like all the rest, especially if they're hard to get along with.

S**t argue with me, Halle/Chante. We could have great makeup sex razz

That's understandable, I am not a fan of her music neither. Don't sweat some others if their fans of hers and want to beat you over the head fishslap b/c you don't dig her like they do. Just say fuck'em and move on.
