The Temptations--Eddie Kendricks/David Ruffin or Dennis Edwards?

One of the greatest harmonizing groups of all time...which era was better--1960's doo-wop influenced five part harmony with Kendricks and Ruffin (My Girl, The Way You Do The Things You Do)...or the harder 1970's psychadelic side (Papa Was a Rolling Stone, Cloud Nine)?

I'd go with Kendricks/Ruffin any day.
