During the 90's it was:

In Utero--Nirvana. A very personal album which I felt a personal connection to as I was going through difficult times myself.

Now it's:

Nevermind--Nirvana. Song for song, I think it's better than In Utero, and it changed rock & roll (& pop music) for the better. Too bad MTV had to change it again for the worse!

Since everyone is breaking the rules, 1993-1995 was an incredible time for music:

Lenny Kravitz - Are you Gonna Go My Way 3/9/1993
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream 7/27/1993
Nirvana - In Utero 9/21/1993
En Vogue -Runaway Love (Ok this is a single but it reminds you how incredible "Funky Divas was) 9/21/1993
Me'Shell N'Degeocello - Plantation Lullabies 10/19/1993
Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies 1/25/1994
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral 3/8/1994
Soundgarden - Superunknown 3/8/1994
The Brand New Heavies - Brother Sister 3/22/1994
Hole-Live through this 4/12/1994
Dee Lite - Dewdrops in the Garden 8/2/1994
Lucious Jackson - Natural Ingredients 8/23/1994
Madonna - Bedtime Stories 10/25/1994
PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love 2/28/1995
Joan Osborne - Relish 3/21/1995
Radiohead - The Bends 4/4/1995
Tricky - Maxinquaye 4/18/1995
Bjork - Post 6/13/1995
Prince - The Gold Experience 10/1995

All these albums still get regular rotation in my player. I draw so much strength from music and this time period in my life was very hard and depressing and I had so many incredible albums to get me through life.

All these albums worship

Singlehandedly changed the way I looked at music.

you forgot to put your "ridas" cd up to. smile

lol j/k

ill say no doubts-"tragic kingdom" or pharcydes "bizzare ride 2 the pharcyde"

LOL! lol You silly!

Tragic Kingdom and Bizzare Ride were bumpin', too. I juggle between that and Labcabincalifornia when I think of my favorite Pharcyde LP.

Just to pick someone totally different:

India.Arie - "Acoustic Soul" It was the first cd that I truly felt that I could relate to cover to cover spiritual, personally, everything, and I wasn't looking for that. It just happened.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Third Eye Blind is still together. Stephan produced Vanessa Carlton's latest cd. The guys are working on an EP. For Bay Area fans, they will be performing Saturday night in Oakland at the We the Planet concert which also includes the Roots, the Coup and Michelle Shocked among others.

Cool List! clapping

One minor correction, though. "The Gold Experience" was released on September 26th 1995. The only reason I know that is bcuz it's My B-day! That was a funky celebration that year. cool
