i heard a song of theirs yesterday at dance class. i didn't know who it was so i asked the teacher. I loved it! Anyone know any more about this group? what do they generally sound like?

I saw Zap Mama live in Stockholm Sweden this monday
& the show was magical!!!!!
The leader Marie Daulne started Zap Mama as an acapella band
but during the years they've been moving towards soul
& the latest cd Anchestry in progress Marie Dualne
collaborates with Erykad Badu,Talib Kweli,Common & Questlove.
The album is a joyful mix between soul,funk,hip hop & african.
Zap Mama live is a happening! A lot like Erykah Badu's show
when I saw that last year where Marie Dualne was 1 of the background
singers.

Bandy bandy is the duet with Erykah Badu & is from the
new album Anchestry in progress.That's a perfect example
of the album tho' it's not the best track on it in my opinion.
There really is lot's more great stuff on it,my favourite is the
funky Show me the way
