I'm telling others-must spread the word.

Pinkerton I really enjoy, Green is alright, Maladroit has some good tracks

Blue is definitely the best, agreed.

Pinkerton I never really got into, maybe I should try again.....
I got bored with Green real fast and with Maladroit they tried too hard to be funny!

What really pissed me off with Green was that, after waiting so long for a new release, they made me pay the full cd-price for only 27 minutes of so-so music!

Another good one: 'Only In Dreams'

I'd find it hard to find any bad track on Blue to be honest

Pinkerton to me is far better than Green and Maladroit combined.

I was kinda pissed too-you'd think you're getting at least 50 minutes of music, and for it to be that short and full price-it's a rip-off.

Pinkerton I hope you give a second chance to-it's the most underrated of them all in my book-better than Maladroit, that's for sure.

Check it out-the last half of it especially I love from The Good Life on.

Try to listen with an open mind-it's not Blue and that to me isn't a bad thing.

It gets a bad reputation simply because of that fact I think.

neutral

(I checked out Pinkerton later on myself, so you're not alone-and I was obsessed with them when .Blue first came out.)

It's the last track on Pinkerton.

Really is great, isn't it?

If you didn't know-it's based on Madame Butterfly.

In the concept album sense.

I believe when Rivers was going back to school he got into it and it started inspiring the album.

Thankfully it's not like Styx where it's blatantly obvious-but it's in there I've read.

'Pinkerton' kinda reminds me of a more polished Pavement-record (which isn't bad!), especially Rivers' singing....and the sometimes messy guitar-work!

Does anybody know what the lyrics to "Say It Ain't So" are about ?

I mean , what the hell means; "Somebody's hiney is drowning my icebox" ?

I always took it as Heineken.

As for the meaning behind Say It Ain't So, my take is it's about an alcoholic father.

Lyrics taken from www.weezer.com (the official site, with band approved lyrics)

"Somebody's Heine' is crowdin' my icebox
Somebody's cold one is givin' me chills
Guess I'll just close my eyes

Flip on the tele'
Wrestle with Jimmy
Something is bubbling
Behind my back
The bottle is ready to blow

Say it ain't so
Your drug is a heartbreaker
Say it ain't so
My love is a lifetaker

I can't confront you
I never could do
That which might hurt you
So try and be cool
When I say
This way is a waterslide away from me that takes you further every day
So be cool

Dear Daddy,
I write you in spite of years of silence.
You've cleaned up, found Jesus,
things are good or so I hear.
This bottle of Steven's
awakens ancient feelings.
Like father, stepfather, the son is drowning in the flood.
"

This part in the end spells it for me really, aside from the "drug is a heartbreaker" and "waterslide away from drowning in the flood" lines.

Just my take though-I've never heard an actual answer-I think Rivers prefers it to be left up to who's listening.

You're welcome!

Rivers can be pretty cryptic sometimes, so it's all good.
