Not to defend Shania, because she makes me vomit with her bland, soulless, music, but did you know she released the best selling CD of all time by a female artist? She's pretty huge, even though nobody will admit to listening to her, so I suppose her hits could also be considered "essential", by the same standards applied to Madonna.
