Jackos "dangerous" and Teddy Riley

I remember Teddy being interviewed about 6 months after "dangerous" and saying he was pissed off that Michael had not used a whole album of his Newjack songs as was originally intended! Instead it was about half of teddy produced songs and other half of Mikes own pop/rock songs!

Apparantly teddy and MJ worked on about 40 SONGS! And Michael only used about 8 of them in the end! One of those tracks "Joy", was later given to Blackstreet!

How could Jacko give away "joy"? That woulda been huge 4 him!!!

Anyway, u reckon a whole album of Teddy Newjack woulda made the album better? I think it definately woulda, as I love those Newjack teddy tracks! They seemed to work so well together on tracks like "in the closet" and "remember the time" whilst "I can't let her get away" hits hard and I woulda killed 4 more tracks like that over "heal the world" "black or white" "who is it"!

I guess Michael just would not risk it sales wise and played it more safe to his pop audience but at least he went half way with Teddy! I just wished he went the whole way, though a track like "will u be there" has a newjack beat and album still amazinly works split up into these 2 quite different halfs!

What u think?

Dangerous is My fave MJ album I have to say. Fave song for me was Give In To me. As cool as those songs Teddy and Mike did (prob Teddy's best work), a whole album produced by Teddy would have lacked a certailn depth that was captured through songs like Will You Be There. The album may have sounded So 90's, and perhaps not as listenable today. The reason Joy was Given away is probabley the same reason Nuthin Compares 2 U was Given away, and that "Up Inda Club" joint was given to Marqous Houston, from R.Kelly.

I love that 2 min intro.....its gorgeous! Self indulgent but gorgeous! I heard he got sued 4 lifting this sample without crediting it was an actual piece of classical music! Then the people sueing found out Sony owned the sampled recording and of course Mike is on sony so egg on their face!!! Something like that anyway!

Oh well, it's like waiting 3 minutes to get to the good part, ya know? Yeah, it's really self-indulgent. If there's a great musical representation of his ego, that's it.

It is insulting for a living musical legend/icon to be called that.

"Who is it" and "black or white" were, and "heal the world" was a rip off of his own "we r the world".....anyway, compared to the teddy cuts, they played safe.....

It's deemed an insult by some of his nuttier fans, seems at one point Michael said he doesn't like it. Therefore, the more crazy obsessed fans have latched onto this as gospel.

Yes it's a silly, non threatening nickname but I hate when tabloids calls Michael "Wacko Jacko". He's a legend for christ sake!fuse

I'm going off topic so I'm gonna calm down my anger.

I too think some of Teddy's best work is on this album. Although Michael's work on those new jack cuts can't be underestimated. He produced those songs with Teddy. It's no coincidence that the new jack cuts were a step up from what Riley had been doing.

I also love Michael's own compositions on the album. Namely "Will You Be There", "Who Is It" and "Give In To Me".

Also some of his best videos came off this album. "Black Or White", "Remember The Time", "In the Closet" and "Jam".

falloff :

Yeah, well it´s not annoying, you just have to be in the right mood for it, which is not always the case, so yeah when you´re not it is annoying.

Anyways. Dangerous is my favourite album. Who is it is da bomb and I am also crazy about She drives me wild, which is not particurarly a favourite song for most people, but I love it. Yeah it´s a classic album

Anyway, u reckon a whole album of Teddy Newjack woulda made the album better? I think it definately woulda, as I love those Newjack teddy tracks! I am not crazy about Black or white either. I guess it was played over too much, but it´s a great song for concerts! As for Who is it - that is to me one of the greatest songs ever.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

"Remember the Time" is one of my favorite MJ joints. And I absolutely LOVE "Joy." I sounds like something Michael would've sung. Too bad he passed on it.

All the New Jack stuff now sounds really dated and old. "Remember the Time" still is a classic, but "Can't let her get Away" and such sounds like MJ tryin' to be Bobby Brown. I am glad MJ used quite a bit of his own material. "Black or White" is still THE classic off of that album. Although I do love the song "Dangerous". Right Ted? We outta here.....

Box Set Dead on Arrival!
Right now, Amazon.com lists "The Ultimate Collection" at around No. 1,196.

By comparison, The Beatles' box set of their first four albums already ranks at No. 67. The Fab Four's release even has a slightly higher suggested retail price

http://www.foxnews.com/st...99,00.html

"Two weeks ago, Sound Scan concluded that he sold a total of 15,000 units of all of his CDs and DVDs. Most of those were his 'Greatest Hits' album."

Now, I don't want to hear how many zillion units he sold, nor how popular he is...

lol lol lol

This is KARMA when a douche makes his whole career around numbers lets report them when he wants to hide from them! lol

I guess 10 years of "Greatest Hits" cd's have caught with him! How many more times can you milk your first 3 solo albums? eek

nod I like the second part of the intro though, when the girls starts to sing.

I heard he got sued 4 lifting this sample without crediting it was an actual piece of classical music

Yep, later prints of the lp gave the credits afterwards..He was also sued for using the Carmina Burana of Carl Orrf for the Dangerous Tour

and Dangerous is my 2nd fave. Mj album after HIStory. Best videos came from this album. Also the most creative album cover lol
