a) Yeah, right, I'll believe that when I see it.

b) You can't act when your face is frozen.

c) Cher is about as "electronica" as Rosie O'Donnell is thin.

Cher was a brilliant actress when she could emote. But her face is so fucking frozen by Botox and facelifts that from about 1996 (when she made Faithless) onwards, you could tell she just couldn't do it anymore.

I don't know what right any of you have to say that someone should retire. No one is forcing you to buy their music or go see them in concert. I bet Elton and The Rolling Stones etc really enjoy what they are doing and millions of people obviously think the same by going along to the concerts and have a good time.

I agree, the more art the better. It all adds to the stew pot. Everyone should continue making art, the good, the bad, the mediocre.

in all honesty i'd have to agree with DavidEye,
Madonna wannabe's got a point
MJ should retire
Its Just getting worst
the songs are tired, he's been doing this so long its finally taken everything out of him.
Ive been waiting for an MJ masterpeice Album and have never got it
Invincible seemed like someone elses C.D.
History had potential, but was 2 angry

I also think Prince needs to retire
he either Retires or get out of the JW's
its seriouslly affecting his music quality

def Britney Spears

and Def Madonna
im just saying they shouldn't release any new music and spare us the pain
they should just go to vegas, like most has beens, getfat and die on the crapper
hmmmm neutral

As much as I hate to say it,

But one of my favorites James Brown needs to retire badly.

George clinton needs to retire. The man sounds and looks horrible up on stage.

Rolling STones. I saw them in the last concert and every last one of them except Mick looked bored. The poor drummer was about to fall asleep.

Whoever listed Ashanti,, is Clever.

Kiss- As a long time fan it pain's me to say this...But let"s face it folks they have been repeating themself for the past 25 yrs. I saw the farewell tour thinking that this will be it...but surprise surprise here they come again with yet another tour. When asked why, Paul Stanley said "that it was his perogrative to contiune and he will decide when he's ready to retire". That fine, but don't tell the fans that this is it when you know you're just trying to milk more money from them. And here a question when was the last time they release a studio album/cd?

You're absolutely right,I'm a Kiss fan too,but they have to quit!
In '92 I went to see the Stones as they went on their last tour, and I definitely had to see 'em before they stopped! It's 2004 now!!Shrewd business man,Mick...

One of the greatest songwriters ever. Not a great singer but with lyrics like his, who cares? His 80s stuff was lame but other than that he's a true songwriting genius. nod

I totally agree.I love James and George, but it's almost painful to see them onstage today. At some point,it's time to call it a day.Do we really wanna see these guys still up there,at 80 years old, trying to get an audience pumped up?

He was never the sweetest singer, but his voice was expressive and it suited his songs. But now his voice is absolutely fucked!! Seriously, have you heard any of his recent live performances??? I still think his legacy as a songwriter and recording artist is outstanding, but as for his touring - frankly, I think charging people money to hear an old man croak down a microphone for 2 hours is a bit much.....

yes As far as i'm concerned, Bob Dylan has only just started doing his best stuff over the last 5 years. Before i felt his material was better performed by someone else, not now the guy is oozing with the VooDoo headbang

As far as Tom Jones..... feeling ill

Don't get me wrong. I worship Bob Dylan. I can't even express how much. He's GOD. But he is a bit croaky these days, you've got to admit. His voice is gone. But that's okay. I would never tell someone to retire. smile

Elton John---don't get me wrong,I am a fan of his.Well, mostly his 70s stuff. But these days,he has become somewhat of a joke. He's primarily in the media only for his bitchy, queeny tantrums, and much of his recent music consists of bland, adult contemporary crap and Disney theme songs. It's time to give it a rest,Elton.Do a final "Farewell Tour" and hang it up.

Michael Jackson---I've been a fan of his since the early 70s and I've followed his career ever since. But let's face it folks,he's done with.No matter what happens in his child molestation case,he's finished. For the past decade or so,he's been in the news for things that have absolutely nothing to do with music! His bizarreness and strange behavior gets more attention than the music, and when that happens,it's time to call it a day.Besides,he hates touring and takes too long to release new albums anyway. He has a musical legacy that he can be proud of and his music will live on forever. But it's time to retire,Mike.

The Rolling Stones---Like Cher, these guys seriously need to do one more final "Farewell Tour" and call it a day.Nothing lasts forever, you know.

Lionel Richie ---I'm a huge fan of his,but it's sad watching him these days.In the 80s,he was a massive pop superstar who sold millions and played huge arenas all over the world. But just a few years ago,he was the opening act for Tina Turner (!) and he hasn't had a legitimate hit record since 1987.These days,he releases watered-down pop albums that sell about five copies here in the US.As a longtime fan,it's embarassing to watch.

I agree with you on this-- except for the STONES!!! I hope they live forever! And rock forever!!!

I would love to see Madonna retire. She can dedicate her life to writing children's books, the kaballah and stopping the war in Iraq. Or, if that doesn't suit her, she could always give lessons on how to give a blow job!

Whoever said Bob Dylan can stfu
