Morrissey's "You Are the Quarry"

Ok, I know there was already a thread discussing this album a while back, but I thought I'd start my own because I didn't even read that one. Mostly because I tend not to want to read other people's opinions and reviews of anything before I listen to it myself.

Anyway, I finally got around to listening to it yesterday, and I LOVE this album! I've been playing it non-stop now since yesterday. biggrin

Favorites so far are "The First of the Gang to Die", "I'm Not Sorry", and "The World is Full of Crashing Bores". cloud9

Any other fans of this album?

I think it's lame. I stopped listening to it a while ago. "I'm Not Sorry" and "Gang" are good though.

Yeah, he didn't come to MPLS. Hopefully he'll come around again since this album has been such a huge success.

I heard that PJ Harvey is opening for him in the UK. eek

I like the new album...for me, it doesn't quite measure up to, say, Viva Hate, but it's good stuff. nod

I think it's pretty dull.

I always preferred his solo stuff to the Smiths, but I still can't get into this one.

There's a few good tracks, but the rest are just tired sounding. Why didn't he put Don't Make Fun Of Daddy's Voice on instead of, say, Let Me Kiss You or All The Lazy Dykes?

Bring back the days of Your Arsenal and Vauxhall And I!

I still haven't given this CD a lot of attention. I'm not sure why, either as I do really like what I've heard. "Gang" is definately a stand-out track for me as is "Come Back To Camden"

It's one of those albums that all the songs start to sound the same after a while, yet somehow I don't mind that about it. It makes it easy to listen to it the whole way through, as a whole.

I think I filed it too quickly. I'll have to throw it on the "listen to me" stack again biggrin
