ThreadCula said: The last album & videos disappointed me
It seemed like she was trying to fit in with whats going on now She needs good beats and lyrics, she's trying to be hard & edgy and thats not her nature I didn't care for the first single much eihter but took a risk by getting the album and it's very mature and has some really hot beats. It's isn't Ahshanti like fluff that the first single would suggest. Brandy has impressed me with this album but not enough to pick up her older ones. I'm hoping for a greatest hits soon.

let me tell you what i think of brandy. i've never been a fan of hers but when i saw her perform on the diva's concert a few years ago and she did that duet with faith hill, she annoyed the hell out of me. she was in her own world and didn't even try to connect with faith hill. she aint no diva anyway, so why was she there?

I LIKE BRANDY MUSIC, BUT I LOST ALOT OF RESPECT FOR HER WHEN MTV WAS FILMING HER THROUGH HER PREGNACY AND SHE TOTALLY DISSED HER MOTHER BECAUSE HER MOTHER TOLD BRANDY THAT SHE DID NOT NEED A MIDWIFE, SHE HAS HER. AND BRANDY BLEW HER OFF AND YOU CAN TELL THAT HER MOTHER WAS HURT BY THAT.
BRANDY AND RYANN STARR FROM THE SURREAL LIFE SHOULD BE JOINED AT THE HIP! THEY ARE BRATTY LITTLE BITCHES!! I'M NOT SHOUTING, JEEZ!

Hopefully she bounces back OK. Hey, Monica left (or was dropped by) Arista and went to J records and while her latest album didn't set the world on fire, almost a year and half after it's release the song "Should Have Known Better" is getting a decent amount of radio play, which could have some effect on the CD.

Brandy's Greatest Hits
I them mixed up. Good order? 1. The Boy is Mine 2. Baby 3. Top Of the World 4. Best Friend 5. Sitting Up In My Room 6. Almost Doesn't Count 7. Brokenhearted 8. Missing You 9. Full Moon 10. Who Is She 2 U? 11. Have You Ever 12. Afrodiasic 13. What About Us? 14. I Wanna Be Down 15. Talk About Our Love 16. New Song 17. New Song (maybe blend in these new songs, mostly like outakes from “Afrodiasic” depending on where they would sound best). Stretches: U Don’t Know Me Like You Used To Impossible (or whatever the name of the song from “Cinderella” is) Another Day In Paradise (with brother Ray J, this was a bit hit in Germany or at least the album, an R&B tribute to Phil Collins, was).

No, I just can't agree with that. Monica's got pipes for DAYS... She sounded like she was holdin' back on that "Boy is Mine" duet. Control, tone, range, timbre -- Monica's no joke. sorry...Monica does have some pipes....

The production on Brandy's first CD was (should I dare say it) FUNKY. As in real funk, like she could have a funk band behind her songs. I remember I went out and bought Brandy's debut in '94 after seeing a black man in his who appeared to be in his 30s jamming to "Best Friend" at a listening station in a record store. He was just wildly bobbing his head and clapping along to it. I was like, "I'm'a buy that album!" I still listen to it regularly. That's a cute story! I just remember being on a 'trip to the city' (Edmonton, Alberta) with my family and I was watching a brand new video on Muchmusic... "I Wanna Be Down" and just thought that beat was the hottest.. and I bought it that day when we went to West Edmonton Mall. Then I got to enjoy the album as each new video came out... "Baby" was probably my favorite.. she was styled so cool (for the time) in that one. What else did that Keith Crouch produce, because I remember reading his credits.

One of my favorite productions by Keith is on Boys II Men's Evolution album...a song called "Baby C'mon." He also produced songs for CeCe Winans, Tevin Campbell, Toni Braxton, Debra Cox and Kenny Lattimore. Keith is the nephew to gospel legend Andre Crouch and brother to Kenneth Crouch (keyboardist for Eric Clapton, Toni Braxton, En Vogue, EW&F and a host of others). As a side note, is it me or does it seem like guitarist John "Jubu" Smith plays with some of the funkiest artists/musicians/producers (ie. Raphael Saadiq, Keith Crouch, Tweet, Rahsaan Patterson, Warryn Campbell)

There's no way this track will see the light of day on a Brandy album. The "Cinderella" SDTK was not released because neither Disney (the makers of the film), Atlantic (Brandy's label) or Arista (Whitney's label) would come to an agreement on who should host the SDTK, so the whole project was scrapped. Another Day In Paradise (with brother Ray J, this was a bit hit in Germany or at least the album, an R&B tribute to Phil Collins, was).
Now, that's a stretch. | |

Now, that's a stretch. I didn't know that the "Cinderalla" album was never released. Interesting. It wasn't a very good song, anyway. I thought "U Don't..." was a strech because it didn't do very well on the charts and sort of came out when the promotion seemed like it was at the end for the album...and then out of nowhere this single comes out.
