So, what are your thoughts on the new Eminem album?
Halfway through, i'm not convinced. Rmmbr how Mosh was a great video with an ok song? Well, for me it's one of the better songs on the album, so
Oh, and the puking-on-record is mmm refreshing - not.
Nice he still found time to work in the Michael Jackson controversy. Apparently he loves Michael but hates plastic sergeons (sp?), unless i'm missing the irony . He is even apologizing for the 'racist' tape that surfaced a few months ago.
Anyway, i'll try to give a better song-per-song review later on. Tell us what you think!

I read a pretty detailed review from an Eminem fan basically saying that every song is a flaming pile of crap.

I mean, songs that are somewhat interesting musically get the most inane lyrics (My 1st Single), and thematic diversity is not really Em's forte apparently. Dare i say it sounds tired in places?

(btw, i don't think the album is flaming pile of crap. Compared to his previous albums it's just more of the same, only more childish (Big Weenien, farting and burping), less fresh, pretty bland even)

ending the album with shooting your audience and yourself could have worked on earlier records, here it's just ... out of place and stupid.

I listened to most of the sample clips to it, and to be honest with you, the production sounds like Madonna's American Life. To me it's going to be raw and very stripped down.

There is one track called "Like Toy Soldiers" which uses a sample from Martika. From what I've heard she is one of Prince's failed protege's. (I was still only about 5 or 6 when she came out, so don't get on my case for not knowing who she is.)

As for my opinion on the CD, I don't think its that bad. However it does not reach the heights of The Eminem Show for me. Encore has some bad songs such as "My 1st Single" (his vocals are buried under an annoying snare sound), and "1 Shot 2 Shot" which is just a bad D12 song.
