looking forward to it, i hope it's great.

however, i'm not thrilled with the 3 studio tracks from it that were on Waiting For A Want. they're okay, but all 3 seem pretty sleepy.

i will definitely get this. Poses is one of the best albums in the last 10 years. I was disappointed by Want One, but I'll certainly still get Want Two. Rufus is awesome.

i am looking forward to this cd! i've heard gay messiah live, though, and it just doesn't do anything for me. it's kind of amateur, i think. better as a b side or something as opposed to takng up album space...

Hehehe
Want One was the first album I got by him as it has subtle Flood influences. And Marius DeVries...

Those names ring bells with you. Wainwright is slightly tacky, slightly snobby and has a nasal voice. Once you get over that, there are good lyrics. And his music is growing, getting better.

I love openly gay Northern Americans (dunno if he's American or Canadian) that does not wallow in overly gay sub routines.

I'm not sure... the songs really didn't connect with me. Maybe i need to listen to it some more.

Poses was a really huge album for me, because Rufus opened for Tori during her Strange Little Tour, which is when I took some vacation time to travel around for a bunch of the shows... so i got to see Rufus quite a few times (and actually spoke w/ him once, at the venue in Charlotte. He is so SKINNY). So those songs from Poses really hit me big time.

And then I saw him again when he toured w/ his band for Poses, and it was really an incredible show.

But when Want One came out, i was so hyped up about it, and for some reason I felt like it just didn't come through. There's nothing magical on it like Tower of Learning or Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk, or Evil Angel.. it just didn't click for me. I don't know why exactly....

I introduced TheBlueAngel 2 Rufus - he fell head over heels for him, and the last I heard, he and his partner hit one of the gigs a few months back - so he's got Rufus fevaaaah! big grin

Rufus was on The Frank Skinner Show (English TV Chat show) a couple of nites ago and performed...I'm not convinced the audience really knew what 2 make of him while he was being interviewed, but I thought he was very genuine, and he definately made them sit up when he performed. Got a great round of applause.

He just needs 2 ditch his current backing 'singers', and get some decent ones in!

i'll find the lyrics somewhere but in the meantime just know that the lyrics lost me at "baptized in cum". i dunno...just sounds kinda 9th grade-ish.

he's one that when i'm really into him, i'm really into him, but then i have to put him away for quite awhile before i'm ready for it again. hell, until last month, i'd put him away for 3 years and hadn't even gotten Want One when it came out. i have to be in the right mood for him.
