Remember INXS?

I wasn't a huge fan, but I think they had some great music.
I was just listening to SO ALIVE and thinking how the lead singer is not so alive and how said that is. He met such an untimely end.
Any followers of INXS know what happened there? How old was he when he died?
Was it drugs?

I love The Swing. Who could forget INXS? They're extremely under-rated.

They were my favorite band as a kid until I discovered The Cure. Still have a soft spot for 'em.

I feel the same way. They weren't my favorite band, but I did like some tracks like Suicide Blonde. HOWEVER, I LOVED Michael Hutchence, the lead singer. I thought he was BEAUTIFUL! Yep, he hanged himself in a hotel room, some believe as a result of depression, but many believe it was a sexual adventure gone wrong. I also saw that Michael's senses of smell and taste were impaired due to a head injury that he sustained after a freak accident. (I think he was either in a fight or fell off a motorcycle????) Apparently, some of his depression stemmed from that disability.

Tragically, the mother of his little girl, Lily(?), also died due to a drug overdose a couple of years ago. I think his family is raising the girl now.

I thought I heard Micheal H was depressed over his ex seeing someone else...

Whatever the circumstances, it was a shame that a talented singer and performer died so soon.

I agree, some very good songs came from that group in a short period of time.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Yeah, I think he was just DEPRESSED. From the interviews that I've seen, Michael was MAJORly depressed because his girlfriend's ex-husband, Bob Geldolf(sp?) was trying to take her kids from her and Michael. He had just gotten in this HUGE argument with Geldolf right before the suicide. Obviously, Michael had a number of issues, but I thought he was a hottie and a good frontman. biggrin
