What happened to Pink?

Seems like she just dropped out of sight. Anyone out there a fan of her music? I like her voice a lot and has great potential to go far but her songs are too pop and weak in my opinion. Especially when she claims that she's not a pop singer and is more edgy. I'd love her to put out a hot cd sometime soon.

No, the R&B diva was her fake alternative image. Missundazstood was a huge step away from that and let's just say she's a lot more credible as a rebellious punker than Avril Lavigne. Pink didn't have a good life early on, so she actually knows what it's like to live on the streets. She had to be tough, I think.

P.S. Try This is really good.

I really liked Pink's last album, 'Try This'. She abandoned the whole pop-r&b sound that sold millions of albums and took a chance with something harder. Because of that, the album was a huge flop, but I still think it was her best to date. Avril wishes she could get Peaches and Rancid's Tim Armstrong to contribute to her record.

She still sings R&B , (that song about her family , "Family portrait" ??)
Trying to be a rebellious punker and singing poppy R&B doesn't mix
That's why i think she's fake

Did you listen to the rest of the album? I'm not saying she's Joan Jett but she's the most credible of them out there. Doing a rock song does not mean you're limited to only that style of music.

Try This is way better than Misundazstood though. And more gritty. I think AllMusic puts it well:

While Perry is still around, she only collaborates on three tracks, since Pink has picked another left-field choice for her main co-writer/producer for Try This: Tim Armstrong, one of the lead singer/songwriters for the acclaimed neo-punk band Rancid. Armstrong co-writes and produces eight of the 13 songs here, and while it's true that he helps steer Pink into harder-rocking territory, the end result isn't quite as simple as Try This being a straight-up rock & roll album. Instead, hard rock is used as the foundation for the record (even some of the Perry-written tracks rock very hard), and then it stretches out into several different styles and sounds. Some are familiar — there's a handful of dance-oriented tracks, a quiet ballad, such as the closer, "Love Song" — but, like M!ssundaztood, this is pop music that knows no boundaries, borrowing ideas from punk, soul, ska, new wave, and electronica to create an exhilarating listen that crackles with energy and inventiveness.

Oops , maybe i was wrong saying she still sings R&B , just looked at her
website and the album that includes that song i was talking about came out in 2001 , though the single release was in February 2003 (strange huh)
And here in Holland again later

Still i think the same about her tho

I thought she was going to be the next Teena Marie and then "I'm comin' out" (or whatever it's called) came out, and I was like, WTF? eek That combined with hearing Kelly Clarkson give Pink props for refusing to be labeled. I realized then that Pink was more "alternative" than R&B.

P!NK's "Try This" was bumpin', too bad it flopped.

Hope she drops something else.

Prince does widely disparate musical styles, and we call him genius.

Pink does the same, and she has to be a faker on one point or another.

shrug

Go figure.

No , there's no comparison
She's trying so hard to be a "tough alternative punker girl"
yet she makes overcommercialized poppy R&B (at least she used to)
Those 2 things don't mix imo

(just repeating myself really)

I was talking about trashy musical tastes...
Hehehe.
You know; Kylie....Roxette....

Would Moonbeam be interested in a dcoumentary to be shown in Norway on which the singer of Roxette tells about her battle with (I think it is) cancer?

It was all over the Dutch CeeFax a week ago. It might be on internet somewhere.
