During the interview, reports were coming in that R. Kelly was in the hospital and supposedly Jay was of the 'whateva' attitude when the hopitalization was reported.

Some think that R Kelly walked off because he didn't get as much love from the audience as Jay Z.

R. Kelly maced at New York concert

NEW YORK (AP) _ A member of rapper Jay Z's entourage maced R. Kelly during a joint concert at Madison Square Garden, Kelly's publicist said.

The spraying happened about an hour into Friday night's show, when Kelly walked on stage and said he saw two people in the audience waving guns, his publicist Allan Mayer said. Kelly abruptly stopped his set at about 9:30 p.m. while Garden security employees searched for weapons.

Finding none, guards told Kelly it was safe to continue performing, Mayer said. But as the singer was making his way back to the stage, a young man in Jay Z's entourage _ apparently miffed that Kelly interrupted the show _ sprayed him and two of his bodyguards in the face.

"I'm pretty sure Jay didn't realize what was going on," Mayer said in a phone interview.

All three men were taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, where they were treated and released, Mayer said. Helena O'Connor, a hospital spokeswoman, could not confirm that the men had been admitted.

Jay Z performed for another 45 minutes after Kelly was sprayed, Mayer said.

In a radio interview on Hot 97 FM radio Friday, Jay Z said he couldn't understand why Kelly left the stage.

"You can't get a gun inside Madison Square Garden," the rapper said. "If people give me love he can't take it."

The two are in the midst of a 40-city "Best of Both Worlds" tour, scheduled to run through Nov. 28.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported discord between the two performers after Kelly showed up more than two hours late for a show in Chicago this month.

New York City police said they had no information about Friday's incident.

Actually this isn't the first time Kelly has left the stage early on this tour. He apparently stormed off the stage in another city last week and Jay Zzzzz had to finish his set. I frankly pity the audience having to sit through a double helping of that no talent toad.

NEW YORK, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- R. Kelly shares his fans' disappointment that despite his willingness to continue performing, the promoter has cancelled his "Best of Both Worlds" concert tour with Jay-Z.
Despite being pepper-sprayed by a member of Jay-Z's entourage as he tried to return to the stage in Madison Square Garden last night, Kelly declared he was "ready, willing, and able" to continue the tour, starting with tonight's scheduled show at the Garden. Jay-Z, however, refused to perform, as a result of which the promoter cancelled the tour.

"The fans deserve better than this," Kelly said. "I'd like the show to go on. It's really disappointing that Jay-Z and the promoter don't."
