Now, the anti-feminist music!! (songs that make the women singing them sould pitiful and pathetic :-(

* "I'm Going Down" Rose Royce/Mary J. Blige -- OK, I've loved this song ever since Royce recorded the initial version. But the singer is saying her life has been destroyed because her man walked out. She practically grovels for his return, repeatedly wailing “i’m going down, I’m going down, cause you ain’t around.” Royce even sniffles by the end.

* "Still" Macy Gray -- This is my favorite song by Macy Gray. And yes, I know what it’s like to be young, stupid, and overwhelmed by love. In this song, Macy is the victim of physical abuse. She has summonded the courage to leave this man, but alas returns because his loving is soo good. “In my last years with him there were bruises On my face. In my dawn and new day I finally got away But my head's all messed up and he knows just what to say...” Frighteningly she is soo in wuuv she will stay in an abusive relationship. It’s very unsettling. But the chorus is sung with such passion and realness the song is addictive :

“I still
Light up like a candle burnin when he calls me up
I still
Melt down like a candle burnin everytime we touch
Oh say what you will
He does me wrong and I should be gone
But ... I still
Be lovin you baby and it's much too much”

!!!!

* “Hit Me Baby, One More Time,” Britney
I don’t really know this song. But I have been unlucky enough to spy the video once or twice. The guy is gone, she wants him back and will do anything he wants and be anyone he wants if he comes back. A whole nation of little girls were singing this song! disbelief

My Man - Billie Holiday

...He's no hero out of books, but I love him.
I don't know why I should.
He isn't true.
He beats me too.
What can I do?

Oh, my man, I love him so! All my life is despair, but I don't care!

What's the difference if I say, "I'll go away" when I know I'll come back on my knees someday?

Whatever my man is, I'm his forevermore....!
