In the book DMSR, it says that Prince played in a way that distract Sting from following him. Ron Wood chuckled at the scene becoz he said "he been through it b4 so he knows".
You could tell that good ol' Sting is feeling stingy in that pic too

No problem. If I rememeber correctly, Prince played the song in a diffent key and possibly a slightly different time signature - on purpose, to 'throw' Sting. By all acounts, Sting found the whole thing an ordeal 2 get through!
One of my tutors at college a few years back was an old friend of Sting's, and told me how he got that name - when he used 2 play gigs (pre Police days) in Newcastle, he would always show up wearing this bloody horrible yellow and black stripey jumper that made him look like a giant Bumble Bee. Someone nick named him Sting, it stuck, the rest is history. *2days post was brought 2 u by the Bananacologne useless trivia dept, the number 3, the colour yellow, and the smell of ripe Bananas
