the reality tour will kick your ass.

ziggy stardust: the motion picture is downright iconic from beginning to end.

if you can snag a copy of bowie's 50th birthday shows, there's some really amazing stuff in there - that is, if you consider bowie duetting with robert smith on "quicksand" and bowie singing "i'm afraid of americans" with sonic youth as his backing band to be "amazing" (which, um, *i* kinda do...)

even the serious moonlight tour video has its highlights, but i recommend the "behind the scenes" documentary on that tour called "ricochet" - it's gorgeous, especially the scene of him on the neon escalator while "sense of doubt" plays in the background. yum.

the only one i wouldn't recommend off the bat is the "glass spider tour" video...but even that video is worth a few laffs, just to see bowie's aquanet mullet and the spinal tap-ness of it all. and there are a few moments here and there that are actually good...but not many. redface

What was the other song they did together, "Seven Years In Tibet"? Something from Earthling I think.

After I watched the Reality dvd, I wanted to pop the Birthday performance in right away, but I'd really have to dig to find it. There are so many great moments on there.

I love during "The Last Thing You Should Do" how Robert does his fucked up little shimmy/luau (sp?)/crazy arms dance.
