Love was taken from a young live
And no one told her why

Her direction has a dimlight
From one more violent crime
She innocently questioned why
Why her father had to die

She asked the men in blue
How is it that you get to choose
Who will live and who will die
Did god told you you could decide ?

You saw he didn't run
And then my daddy had no gun

In the middle of the village
Within a distant land
Lies a poor boy with his broken toy
To young to understand

He's awaken, ground is shaking
His father grabs his hand
Screaming crying, his wife's dying
Now he's left to explain

He innocently questioned why
Why his mother had to die
Why did these soldiers come here for ?
If they're for peace why is there war ?

Did god say that they could decide
Who will live and who will die ?
All my mama ever did
Was try to take care of her kids

When innocence is standing by
Watching people loosing lives
It seem as if we have no voice
It's time for us to make a choice

Only god could decide
Who will live and who will die
There's nothing that can't be done
If we raise our voice as one

Did god hear it from me ?
Did god hear it from you ?
Did god hear it from us ?

We can't take it
We've already had enough

Did god hear it from me ?
Did god hear it from you ?
Did god hear it from us ?

We can't take it
We've already had enough

Thank god I care for me
Thank god I care for you
Thank god it came from you babe

We can't take it
We've already had enough

Deep in my soul baby

Deep in your soul and by your side

Deep in my soul

It's so big and i'm still alive

Did god hear it from us ?

We can't take it
We've already had enough

It's going down baby
Just let god decide,

It's going on baby
Just let god decide

Deep in my soul baby

We've already had enough

Did god hear it from me ?
Did god hear it from you ?
Did god hear it from us ?

We can't, we can't
We've already had enough

Open to some critique?

The song reminds me alot of Dirty Diana and especially They Don't Care ABout Us. He uses the same build up and almost the same instrumentation.

And he is EE-EE-ing his part to the louder part of the song again. Does that AA! and UU! not iiritate you after twenty years? Just curious.

This not meant to dis Mr Jackson. I have great respect for his older musical work and some of his later stuff (like Scream). But tracks like We've Had Enough seem unbelievably we've-heard-it-all-before to me.

What producers were involved on this song?

Excellent!
And while i can see how this reminds of older work (not TDCAU, however confuse), the song is again unapologetic MJ: pretty typical in message and composition, but still unique. It's almost an opera-popsong. And the Aw's and Uw's work in it. He's even using the hee-hee's to build the song at some point, and again it works. I'll give you the instrumentation and the beat, which are a bit mmm too conventional. Curious who the producer is...

Really? That's the thing i like about the cut- the "EE-EE-ing" doesn't irritate me at all. As a fan i've come to expect it, it has become a signature of his. I didn't like Scream all that much tho, and the only song which was outstanding (for me) of Invincible was, "Whatever Happens". I find a lot to like about this latest.

hmmm

the last two lines from most all the verses sound
surprisingly much like the "Earth Song" build ups.

in the latter part of the song I can hear bits of
"Stranger In Moscow".

still an ok song but nothing spectacular.

I dare you to take the vocals away and say - oh this is just another MJ composition!!! u couldnt possibly!!
MJ has such distinctive vocals so it's hard not to compare - the vocals on this are amazing!! (and the E-E's as you put it & 'hiccups' are part of MJ & I love em!!)
But hey let's just compare it to a 20 years old song - right!!

As a note - should also hear the earlier demo 'scared of the moon' in full - it's amazing!!

For those interested, the credits read:

are you sure? I heard somewhere he's written that one alone. Doesnt sound overproduced at all which was the case with most songs on invincible.

Hey, it's taken from the internets, but i would say from a pretty reliable source so, yeah...

i believe a lot of "bad" and "dangerous" outtakes have been re-used for
"history", "botdf" and perhaps also "invincible". so, he could've wrote it by
himself. perhaps later rodney jerkins et all added shit, hence the credits.

but i also heard "we've had enough" was supposed to be a duet between mike and
janet. so, it could be this was intended for "history" and later left off
cause "scream" seemed a better pick.

but what do i know?

Wow, not only the best anti war song released but one of MJ's best songs, totally original vocals, excellently produced fantastic lyrics and emotional storyline. This is why MJ is the King of Pop, in fact this song is of more worth than the entire Invincible album, except Butterflies/Whatever Happens/Speechless!

On the one hand we've got "cinnamon girl" on the other "we've had enough"! MJ is obviously showing P who's boss here!

That man has an incredible vibrato!

They gotta here it from me
They gotta here it from you
They gotta here it from us
We can't take it
We've already had enough music

The only thing I don't like is the drum track. Other then that it's superb.

Niiiiice. How was this not included on an album? I think of a few songs it could have replaced.

It was actually recorded this year. At least finishing touches were put on it this year. I hope it explains in more detail in the booklet.

Cool. A brand new joint. So was this originally intended to be a duet with Janet or was that just a rumor?

I'm with Gooey on this one - blah. Oh, and I'm with OdysseyMiles too - razz classic, eh? wink

Thanks for the download though, I always like to hear what he comes out with. It's just a shame that there hasn't been anything since Scream that I've actually wanted to own. Ah well.

Oh, and this is an anti-War song? Weird. I would never know that from listening to it.
