Rumors... No Mirwais? News from two of our sources has just reached us about Madonna's upcoming album. Still in the early stages of production, things can change at any time at this point. However, this is what we know so far:
Stuart Price is at the healm of the album, his role is as producer; Stuart has a lot of input with the type of music, sound and over all direction of the album. The sound we are being told is more electric than the work she did with Orbit. Also, Monte Pittman is involved, Madonna is working with him, but what they are working on is unknown at the moment. Mirwais doesn't seem to be too heavily involved with this album at this time and his role is yet unknown. A blast from the past, Madonna has brought in Pat Leonard for more writting than producing. Joe Henry is involved as well and is collaborating with Madonna. A little tid bit to chew on: We have learned that there is a song titled "You're The One" but people close to Madonna are pushing for the title to change because it is so close to "Nothing Fails." We remind you, the album is still in it's very early stages and many things are bound to change. taken from Madonna.nu You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

I'd also heard she was in talks with Guy Chambers. I wonder if anything ever came of that? As far as Mirwais goes, he's hit his shelf life as a Madonna co-producer. I'm not surprised he's not heavily involved. Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

I think losing Mirwais for this album is wise. They'd really done all they could do together. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

I really liked his input on Music. And I really enjoyed his CD. But I was bored with him on American Life. It's time for Madonna to move on.

These are only rumours....but lets hope Mirwais is done. AL was good but I'm hoping for something different and its about time for Madonna to change it up... so it's enough. However, I hope she doesn't go for the Missy "eighties" throwback thing either. It was fine for one record but not a whole album. Surprise us again, Madonna.

now THAT'S a good plan! i could just imagine those two bitches working together. madge could keep all her pop producersto make the album more commercial friendly but she could work with peaches to put some edge on there...try some new route or something. it would be a little bit of a risk but i think most people would welcome it. of course i'm talking a bunch of nonsense because i don't think peaches would work with madonna. maybe i'm wrong though...

Peaches was asked to remix "Hollywood" and turned it down. "What a shitty song!" she has said in later interviews (I saw first-hand on Muchmusic in Canada).

I heard Peaches turned down working with Britney on In The Zone because she thought, "What can I write for her that they're not gonna water down?" (the record label). Peaches worked with Pink though.

I heard Peaches turned down working with Britney on In The Zone because she thought, "What can I write for her that they're not gonna water down?" (the record label). Peaches worked with Pink though. Yes, that's exactly what she said in a Rolling Stone article: The success of her debut, The Teaches of Peaches, brought her many fans within the industry. She was invited to be the opening act for everyone from Bjork to Queens of the Stone Age to John Waters. Britney Spears asked her to do some songwriting for her next record, but Peaches passed on the offer that many would have killed for. "I thought, 'What can I write for her that they're not gonna water down?'" she explains. I believe Christina Aguilera wanted to work with her as well. Back on subject, I'm glad to see the return of Patrick Leonard. I think Madonna did some of her best songwriting with him, and I'd love to see him have a more active role in her production as well.

Madonna.nu is very reliable... and like they said its still early in the process. Who knows what she'll do before now and the album comes out. Bedtime Stories started out as a project with her and Shep Pettibone. Erotica started out as her and Patrick Lennord. Ray of Light started out as her and Babyface and Pat. Music started out with WO. newer know where she is going to end up You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Exactly.Madonna usually starts working on a bunch of tracks, then halfway through the project, she gets inspired to go in another whole new direction.By the time the album comes out,all or some of the rumored collaborations that we've heard about in recent weeks may be scrapped. At an early stage,'American Life' was planned as an uptempo electro/dance album, featuring collaborations with Dr. Dre and Air. But it's good news that Mirwais won't be involved this time. He's talented and I love the work he did on her last two albums, but it's time for a change.Madonna never stays with the same style/sound for too long.I think she should make a more upbeat-sounding album, with some edgy dance tracks and killer ballads.Nothing too heavy, dark or experimental. But it's hard to predict what direction she will go in. Well,at least we know one new song title: "You're The One" [Edited 10/27/04 1:50am]
