This album was one of the best albums by Davie Bowie I've ever heard. The different journeys of jazz, funk, soul, pop, disco, housemusic, etc. The music David incorporated into this album was dizzying to say the least. Two years ago on the cable station Ovation, Mr. Bowie performed every song on this album with the same musicians and back-ground singers he used on the album. Was he handsome and sexy as ever!!! and he played saxophone on some of those cuts. Great show and album!! The screensavers are great!!

i didn't know black tie/white noise had so many fans! it's always been so-so with me...i don't love it but i don't hate it, either. i got the limited edition reissue over the summer, with the DVD and the bonus remix disc. it didn't make me fall in love with the album, but i finally have a version of "real cool world" in my collection (i admit it - i like that song!) and it comes in a very swanky package. if ya like BT/WN you should hunt it down!

i think there are some outtakes from it on the DVD that comes with the BT/WN reissue...there's also a performance of the title track on the bonus DVD that came out with the special edition of "best of bowie" last christmas (the one with the horrendous "club bowie" remix videos).

So he really performed this album straight through nearly 10 years later? How did I miss this?

no no, i don't think he performed the album recently - i haven't heard of that happening, anyway...the reissue came out this year, though, and it has a DVD with a lot of performances of the songs on it. i don't know if that's what was mentioned earlier on this thread, i've never seen what she's talking about.

Maybe the performance on Ovation is a re-run of something from '93. I still would love to see that!
