Songs that fade out or finish just as they're getting good...

Listening to Bowie's "Low" for the first time as type and I really love the song, "Sound and Vision", but it fades out far too quickly!

Another song like that is Prince's "Dear Mr Man". You can tell there was more, but for some reason, he took the easy option and faded it.

mad

Got any others?

Soundgarden's "Boot Camp." It's the last track on Down on the Upside, from 1996. It starts small but builds into a huge, sweeping, epic sound...for four bars. It should have been three times as long, with a 64-bar solo by Kim Thayil. And a drum solo. With Chris Cornell singing shirtless.

Yep, it does. That's always been my only complaint about it.

isn't it a bitch! SUCH a good feel, then the chorus comes on ONCE and then it's OVER! oh well, the next song (always crashing in the same car) does kind of make up for it I guess.

When the rock guitar comes back in "I can never take the place...", I always wished he'd go on for more than 20-30 sec.

co-sign.

Here's another one: "Right Now" by Van Halen. It's obvious the song didn't end there.

Rufus Wainwright, "Oh What A World".... should go on 6 or 7 minutes. oh well, it's probably best that it doesn't, or i'd never get past the first 2 tracks when i listen to Want One. smile

Janis Joplin's SUMMERTIME should have went on for a few minutes more. I think she should have said: DON'T YOU CRRRRRYYYYY in that way she does in the middle of the song. OH! I just keep waiting for her to yell some more, but it just ends. Oh!

RocknRollDave

A strange one this, cos it fades out AT THE START and then fades back in again:

Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others - The Smiths...

confuse Why DOES it do that?!

I hate fade-outs - I much prefer a song with a proper ending - that's why live versions are better, for a start...

(Hey, Jack Flash, don't you wish Monkey Man had a proper ending, like the live version? )
