Brian Eno - Another Green World (remaster): 9.99 (i've decided that i really want all the eno remasters, but i'm only gonna get 'em when i find 'em used...that'll give me time to thoroughly listen to each one i buy until i come across the next one in the used bins. plus, i like eno, but not enough to pay full price for these remasters. color me cheep.)

The Cardigans - Long Gone Before Daylight (w/ bonus DVD): 10.99 (i'm not sure why i bought this, because "a camp" made me want to slash my wrists, and i thought "gran turismo" was so bleak, i just got rid of it after a few listens. sorry to be so pedestrian, but i love the cardigans of "emmerdale" and "life"...the lyrics were still as bleak, but the music was loungey and catchy and at times, downright danceable. i'll say it: i really dig "lovefool". it seems like with their last couple of albums, the tone of the music has caught up with the tone of the lyrics, and not even nina persson's gorgeous purr of a babydoll voice can save these albums from being downright dirge-like. and with this track record, i bought their new album anyway. what can i say. it was cheap and used and it comes with a DVD. haven't listened to it yet...i may be in for a surprise...?)

Bauhaus - Gotham (2-disc live set): 10.99 (The audio version of their NYC reunion concert - something I meant to get when it was first released, but I was a little "reunioned-out" and didn't want to hear a past-their-prime Bauhaus trundling out the old hits in a sad attempt to look sexy and goth again. My fears were wrong - damn, this is sublime.)

Bauhaus/Love & Rockets/Peter Murphy/Tones On Tail/Daniel Ash/David J./Dali's Car - Sampler: 8.99 (What can I say - I was looking in the "Bauhaus" section and I lucked out. I've been looking for this sampler for a couple years, and now I found it, and for a low, low price - yay me!)

Kimya Dawson - Hidden Vagenda: 11.99 (Okay, I got this one new and at full price, but that's a good thing because Kimya Dawson is a sweetheart who writes funny and adorable songs, and I like it that buying a new copy means Kimya will get some $$$, cuz she's a right on chick and she deserves some scratch. She's part of that whole "anti-folk" crowd, and while I'm not sure what the "anti-folk" manifesto is, she's my favorite performer in the genre. And I'm not just saying that because I don't know of any other anti-folk artists. Really.)

I've been eyeing those Enos too, but they're always so damn expensive wherever I go. I can never find them used or onsale.

Life is what got me into them-and I miss the loungier and catchier music of that, but I've really enjoyed the new one.

This one, if you're only wanting the lounge/fun side of The Cardigans-you might not like it. This is more of a Sunday afternoon, relaxing kind of album. There's even a tiny bit of a country/Sheryl Crow influence on one song-"Live and Learn". It gets stuck in your head.

Personally I think it's one of their best-it's a different kind of lounge, a more mature quality that I think. I really enjoyed it, and hopefully if it's harder for you to get into you can warm up to it.

To me it's much better than A Camp ("Algebra" was probably my favorite from that)-but this still isn't The Cardigans of ago.

If you want something to relax with, an album that mellows you at 2 in the morning when it's hard to sleep-this is it.

It's also catchy, but there isn't a "Lovefool" to be found-I'm really curious as to what you think.

I need to check out the Eno and Bauhaus though.
