Ashlee Owns Up, Takes Responsibility For 'SNL' Lip-Synch Snafu (Now with new Reflux excuse!) Begin Damage Control.....
or not... "MTV Fooled by java-script warrirors! MTV have been fooled by the java-script warriors on the offical Ashlee Simpson forums. I've mirrored the news article incase it gets pulled! Simpson has since been widely attacked for the snafu, with an interview she gave to Lucky magazine coming back to haunt her. When asked what her take on lip-synching was, she had told the magazine, "I'm totally against it and offended by it. I'm going to let my real talent show, not just stand there and dance around. Personally, I'd never lip-synch. It's just not me." Oh yeah? 
In response to her Lucky magazine quote, she posted, "I know what I said, but when I get as worn out and beaten down as I do, sometimes I do not have the energy or the voice left. I have almost lost it due to nonstop moving about. So it is the only option."  How does "non-stop moving about" cause you to loose your voice? | |

I felt the need to repost this in response to her statement:
"FUCK THAT. You either cancel your appearance or you let the show go on and sing live (preface it and say my voice is going but i'll still sing for y'all-that would make her look like a heroin...all I have to say to that "no voice bullshit" is U2 LIVE in Sarajevo in 1997 on the Popmart tour...it was broadcast lve on the radio and Bono had laryngitis and kept apologizing to the crowd...but he still sang live...granted-he totally sounded like SHIT...but he chose to let the show go on and sang every song (2 1/2 hour set!) LIVE." Let the rain come down...17 days.... | |

Did you see her MTV show? Her voice was hoarse after one night of rehearsal. She has no idea how to use her voice. She's a total amateur. What she means by moving about is going from city to city doing back to back to back shows. It can really tire a persons vocal cords. MY bf is a musician
and did a gig back to back in Hew Hampshire this weekend and his vocal cords are hurting. I thnk that is whats she ment. But if she is lip-syncing and/or using backing tracks for help... then she wouldn't be wearing her voice out. PLUS, if you know how to use your voice correctly, you wont wear it out. What I heard of her vocal playback, its not like she's doing vocal acrobatics. Where is her voice coach?!?!? | |

That is such bullshit. She can't be working that hard... I mean, Britney is just now getting worn down... (As much as I'm against this kind of manufacturing, she is a good example of "working hard" performing.) Great point. She was destroying her voice in the studio because she simply doesn't know how to use it. This will only continue until she wises up and gets some training. | |

Guys, guys, guys - she's actually NOT posting to her site (do you think her label is even letting her NEAR the intarweb right now?) There are a bunch of different people who are using a simple javascript command to change their account registrations to "host", and MTV was fooled by it. It's all here:

Uh yeah, this is true, but Ashlee Simpson ain't "crazy ass touring". Metallica is "crazy ass touring". Ashlee's been doing spot dates to promote her record. She ain't flyin' all over Japan or Australia. It was evident on her reality show (soundin' like Courtney Love with a cold in the studio) that she does not know how to use her voice. | |
