i was concerned about my vcr screwing up...my timer is far too unreliable...so i rearranged most of my plans tonight in order to be home and watching. my meeting was made more abrupt and i'm taking a mini pilates class instead of the full class from 8-9. nothing is coming between my girl and me! lol

open...probably not. she's getting the lifetime achievement award. lip sync...probably. c'mon, its janet and she betta dance!!!

i'm hoping that the other awards shows follow suit and give her a lifetime achievement award as well. otherwise, she'll have no reason to perform on them.

so...that's it, eh? a pr move to talk about make a wish charities? no performance.

another bad choice. that was an opportunity for janet to breakdown one of her new jams (like rnb junkie or all nite don't stop).

She's done with this album. She's gonna come back strong with a tour next year, and a new album in 2006.

that's just a bad move. people need to be reminded why she's been so popular for so long. i've said it before...tours are supposed to support albums not vice versa.

It's a smart move, IMHO. She wants to leave this year behind, and she will, successfully. Look at Madonna and Reinvention - took the bad AL taste out of ppl's mouths pretty quickly.

i see what you're saying. if she waits a bit and does a "hits" tour she can come out smelling like roses in the summer. i just feel like it dismisses the work she put into this record. its like she's saying "i only support albums the masses like" rather than perservering and sticking by her record. she would still be a huge draw to venues if she toured to support this record and it would be the only way to get people to hear the record.

look at her brother...he hasn't toured for an album in a long time and his last commercially successful record (by mj standards) was the one for which he last toured...dangerous. i hate that these people get so big they can't be bothered to actually go out and do the work it takes to support a record. its like if its not an instant hit, they can't be fucked to bother with it.

ok...deep breath...lol

moving on...

Ain't nothing gonna turn Damita Jo into either a huge seller or a classic Janet record, and she knows it. What's the point of touring with the record if it only makes her look like a has-been peddling low-quality product?

yeah...i just think that for every person who doesn't like the record there is another person who does and three who haven't heard it. the album was obviously blacklisted from playlists...nothing else could have kept all nite of the charts. rnb junkie was never even released! slo love was never released! spendin' time with you was never released! there are at least 4 classic janet jackson hit songs on that record and, honestly, in my opinion the cd is a lot of fun. you hear what's hitting on radio today...i know you disagree but i think everything on damita jo is better than most stuff on radio.

I STRONGLY agree. Damita Jo never had a chance. I would understand, however, if Janet decides to something a little different for her tour than JUST support the album due to the backlash and all of the negative press. However, it's a shame, 'coz it's true that many of the tracks on Damita Jo are BETTER BY FAR than a lot of stuff on the radio. Janet should be proud of the cd. In fact, in all honesty, I like Damita Jo better than All4You.
