Janet Jackson's "Lena Horne" Portrait Movie

Is there a trailor or promo clips for that shelved project?

I only seen ONE promo pic and thats all. I wonder how Miss J did in that flick.

I love Lena Horne, but that old dame should get off her high horse & allow the launch for that movie sad mad

Thier is a copy of Vanity Fair from the Summer of 2004 I believe and there are stars in it dressined like old Hollywood stars and the pics are Black and White and I saw Janet as Lena in it but thats the only pic I have seen.

Sadly, neither a trailer nor promotional clips have surfaced because the film never went into production. It was nixed after Lena and her daughter Gail Lumet Buckley completely shut down this project following their outrage over Nipplegate.

Apparently, Horne refused to return her contract for the pic until ABC guaranteed that Jackson was off the project.

Although ABC rebuffed Horne's demand, Janet Jackson quit.

Oh, well.

You just answered my question. If I was Janet I would've quit too. Here I am trying to smooth things over with Lena Horne and she and her daughter have made it clear that they don't want me to do her story. Fuck em. I'm ain't trying to get your story out that bad! Plus I think the only real reason Janet wanted to play Lena Horne is because she didn't get to play Dorothy Dandridge. I guess when Halle played it, it was all over with for her. Oh well, I guess I'll do Lena Horne.
