Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced The SOS Band for a little while. Look for "Just Be Good To Me", "Just The Way You Like It", and "For Your Love". They also produced "Change of Heart" by Change and "Encore" by Cheryl Lynn. Another funky one is "Captain Rapp" by Captain Rapp. I think they produced this also but I'm not sure.

Andre Cymone produced a funky one for The Girls called "S-E-S-E-X". Look for Andre Cymone's "So Fine" and "The Dance Electric" also. He later produced Jody Watley, which I'm sure you've probably heard.

Two groups that have no affiliation with Minneapolis but definately have that sound and voice are Ebonee Webb and Bobby Nunn. Look for Ebonee Webb's "Something About You" and "Too Hot To Be Cool". Look for Bobby Nunn's "Got To Get Up On It", "Sexy Sassy", and "Private Party". Bobby Nunn also produced "Rocket 2 U" by The Jets in the late 1980s.

Before Janet Jackson hooked up with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, she had a song called "Don't Stand Another Chance" was sounds very Minneapolis sounding. There is also a Janet Jackson track produced by Jesse Johnson called "Fast Girls".

In the late 1980s, Brown Mark produced "Relationship" by Lakeside, which is also very funky.

Madame X had "Just That Type of Girl", "I Wonder", "Marry Me", and "I Want Your Body" which sound very Vanity 6 influenced.

Of course everyone knows about Ready For The World's "Oh Sheila" and "Digital Display".

The Egyptian Lover also has "Freak-A-Holic" and "The Alezby Inn" which sound very Prince influenced.

Vesta Williams did a track called "Something About You" which sounds Minneapolisy.

Krystol had "Passion From A Woman" in the late 1980s which sounds Minneapolisy.
Andy is a four letter word.
