Mos Def - The New Danger

MOS DEF shining bright!!

OMG, this album is so hot, what pisses me off is the media acts like Andre 3000 from outkast is this great creative genius.....

How does Mos not get recognition as the the most creative artist in hip hop now??

This album is never leaving my deck.....

Man, you can say that again! this album rocks like a mutha! i love it! nice to see a rapper experiment and do soemthing different for a change. Too bad people are not willing to give it a chance since it's not straight rap and it's not gangsta.

I have a crush on him. He's not your typical handsome guy. I don't know what his appeal is.

" See me, touch me, give me, want me
Feed me, fuck me, trust me, love me
This whole world is cold and ugly
What we are is low and lovely
I am the most beautiful boogie man
The most beautiful boogie man
Let me be your famous nightmare
Close your eyes and ill be right there
While...Open...All...Over...A-gain...Ag-ain
"

"The Boogie Man Song" and "Sex,Love & Money" are my favourites so far but just like "Black On Both Sides", the more you spin this disc the more tracks feature under your 'favourites' category nod

"DANGER!" headbang

it's in my 6 cd in dash changer right now!!! this album has to had been the best hip hop album that came out in '04!!! Its definitely hot, it is a must buy, leave ja rule's album in da wrecka stow and pick up Mos Def!!!!

my shit is tracks # 2,3,4,5,8,9,11,13,14,15

but the song that really got me excited the first time i listened to it was #14 the one about Marvin Gaye. It samples "Flyin' High in the Friendly Sky" from Marvin's What's going on album which is my fav song on the album. It's so tight how Mos used those samples into his own original song. I have never heard a better song with such legendary samples in it and it didn't sound cheap and overrated. I love the album!!!

Q Magazine just gave this album 2 stars. They said the rapping was good, but the music was shit, basically.

shrug

I often agree with their reviews, so I think I'll be passing on this one unless anyone can convince me otherwise.

Mos Def's lyrical/rap ability has no questions to be answered, it's championship stuff thumbs up!

Anyone expecting a pure hip hop album after the long, LONG, wait since his debut solo album in 1999 will be dumbfounded.

'New Danger' has a radical musical flavour in terms of black hip hop. Mos Def's aim (the Black Jack Johnson project) is to put a truer rap-rock genre on the map with black rock 'n' roll musicians from back in the day headbang

It's a very bold venture, even though Mos has done a rap-rock style track here and there, it's something that he's very passionate about.

It's gonna sound "non-conformist" and unconventional, even to hip hop heads at first, but you just gotta give it a whirl. You may think Mos is out of his depth with this or that he once again leads hip hop innovation from the front.

You'll not know until you give it a go smile Try it wink
