Name Some Disco Movies

After reading David Eye's thread on "Saturday Night Fever", it got me thinking about my first love in music...disco. Name some disco movies, whether good or bad, I still would like to see them.

The only two I can remember are the two I have seen. I saw "Saturday Night Fever" and enjoyed it. I also saw "Thank God It's Friday" and didn't care for it. It reminded me of a disco version of "The Love Boat"....love the music though.

"Roller Boogie" sounds vaguely familiar. I can't really think of any other disco movies either. I remember seeing one back in the early 1980s on televison (it was an old movie they were showing) and I can't remember the name of it.

'Tis a joke. Whenever you need a sequel name, just add Electric Boogaloo. Taken from:

which is, I tell you, a masterpiece.

Oh yes, I remember that one now that you mention it. I saw it in the mid 1990s on VH1 and you are right, it is absolutely horrible. lol That's a shame about the motorcycle guy. Do you know how many of the original members are left except for the cop?

That's not a disco movie, that's a breakdancing movie. I saw it also, it was OK. That is a great idea for another thread...breakdancing movies. I like those too. biggrin

Good choice. I forgot all about recent movies about the disco era. Another one is "54".

oops, sorry,,,, was looking at the Boogaloo pics and not paying attention.

How about Sgt. Peppers w/the Bee Gees and Frampton. Doesn't the Bee Gees automatically make it a disco movie? Maybe their were no roller skates (or was Billy Preston sporting some?)

They recently re-released that movie on DVD. I was looking through my Columbia House catalog and I am not part of the DVD club but the Music club offer a few well known DVDs including new releases, music DVDs and some TV sets at discounts and for some reason, that title appears every so often under they few selections that they offer through the club and it isn't under their music videos.

Never heard of it. Looks like a good list of people for the soundtrack. Why was this in a Fleetwood Mac website?

One movie that you should avoid at all costs is the film "The Last Days Of Disco",an independent film that came out in the late 90s.It's garbage.Basically,it's about a group of yuppies who hang out in discos in 1980...all they do is sit and talk, talk, talk. In fact, they do more talking than dancing...lol...good soundtrack though.

By the way,the best disco site on the web is...

www.discosavvy.com

I'm not sure if they discuss disco movies, but they certainly cover everything else associated with disco.
