Dream Street By Ms. Jackson!

Does anyone have this cd? It's really good. I love the songs "you don't stand another chance" and of course "dream street". This is basically an 80's electro pop cd. Too bad it do so well....

Did this ever come out on CD? I have it on vinyl. Remember 2 to the Power of Love w/Cliff Richards? I like Cliff but how did they hook up for a duet?

Yes. Out of print now, though (except in Japan).

I remember seeing the video for "Dream Street" on BET. They don't show that video anywhere anymore. Not even on VH1 Classic.

You ever noticed that Janet NEVER performs any of the songs from her first 2 albums "Janet Jackson" and "Dreamstreet" when she is in concert? I realize they did not have the sucess of Control and thereafter; but those writers gave her her first start. She should perform "Don't Stand Another Chance" and "Young Love" out of respect(but PLEASE not Dreamstreet. That song was horrible)

Little known fact: Did you know that Michael, Jackie and Tito did BACKGROUND VOCALS on this track. (Listen closely, you can hear Michael singing "you don't stand it baby!!!")

This album is TRAPPED and SEALED in the '80s and that's what I love about it. It is DATED beyond belief -- synths for days! -- which makes it sound more out-of-place today! This LP is like a warped form of escapism for me. Tracks like "Hold Back The Tears," "If It Takes All Night," "Pretty Boy," "All My Love To You" and "Dream Street" make me want to slip on some flourescent leg warmers, a pair of Gazelles and dance like Debbie Allen -- and cool off with a can of TAB. I wanna cassette player with no rewind button! LOL!!

I'll say it again, if you loved the movie "Fast Forward" or the TV show Solid Gold, you need to check this out! If you want music for a campy '80s party, throw some of these songs on!

Right on, sis! I agree and I love all things 80's. I was way too young to appreciate in back then which is why i'm probably so fixated on it now. I wish it was 1985!

Yeah, I got the 45. I also have the 45 of "Fast Girls" which was produced by Jesse Johnson. Is that one on there?

nod I went through that exact same phase in 1997. That year, all I watched were John Hughes' Brat Pack flicks, Breakin' 1 & 2 - Electric Boogaloo, Fast Forward, Krush Groove, etc. I bought Chaka Khan's I Feel For You LP, Midnight Star, RJ's Latest Arrival, Janet's Dream Street, Bill Summers & Summer's Heat, Zapp & Roger, etc. I started taking up breakdancing, I was doing leg spins and floor work on cardboard and even rented old "How To Breakdance" videotapes from mom & pop video stores. Color me obsessed!
