My pick is My Life, without a doubt. It was the best "hip-hop soul" album of its day, and one of the few that could be called a classic, IMHO. It remains her best album.

I say that Mary J Blige's best albums are her 2 first ones: My Life and What's The 411. They were both revolutionary and they also comfirmed Mary as the "official" queen of hip-hop-soul.

My Life & "Mary" which exposed an unexpecting maturity & growth.

Share My World woulda been her best if she included ALL the outtakes(which are the bomb diggity if you have access to them).

She actualy sang a damn good version of Duke Ellington's standard "Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me" and supricingly she did it justice(making it a Soul/Hip Hop number).

I wish she would team with L-Boogie again tho,,,,both ladies know how to work a collaporation/duet real well.

My Life is the best one to me. Mary was going through hell and I felt like I was going through hell with her. The title track and the words:

Oh, you would see I'm so blue...down and out...crying everyday.....don't know to do or say...

chokes me the hell up to this day. Mary still gets bumped on a regular basis.

I'll be the oddball. But I think her best was What's the 411?. From beginning to end that album was banging. After that album, I started to dislike her and everything she released with the exception of 'Not Gon' Cry' and 'All That I Can Say'.

I realize it was my ego reacting to dancerella's comment, but it still fucked over my entire evening.

I know I'm alone on this, but I play "No More Drama" most often. I like its diversity.

'My Life' is important to me personally, it reflected what I felt at some hard times.

Yeah, the lryics to the song, My Life has inspired me so much:

Life can be only what you make it,
When you're feeling down, you should never fake it,
Say what's on your mind, and you'll find in time,
That all the negative energy, it will always be.....

Makes me sad all the time. The album, My Life, is brilliant.

I couldn't agree with you more. That was an amazing album. It seems the most ish Mary goes through she puts out an intensely emotional album.
