where the hell is she anyway? last thing I heard now a few weeks ago
is that she was recording another album with the Fugees. My eyes went oh well, I guess time will tell. As for which version, hmm, I like them both but I do have a soft spot for Lauren's voice. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I prefer Lauren's version, but neither can beat the original.

Al's moaning of "She wuzz, she wuzz" in between the chrous's lines is annoying.

I used to love Al B.'s version until I heard Laryn's version. The original still kicks all of the remakes' asses.

Alright folks Legs has to add her . On the real tip, I prefer Roberta Flacks version most of all(original).
As for the other version, I liked certain aspects of them. I felt the beat and vocal arragements in the Fugees (Lauryn Hill) version were pretty good. However, Al B. Sure version only had the track working for it b/c the vocals stunk like a big pile of . [Edited 10/20/04 12:32pm]

A-a-Al B.'s was the bomb. Super-tight production.
Don't get me wrong: I love Lauryn Hill's voice, always have. But, with a voice like hers, you almost expect her to amaze you on a classic. I bet she'd tear up some "Rescue Me," but that's neither here nor there. Al B., on the other hand, had to work for that track to be as tight as it was. Yes, he's a production singer, but he did a really good job. And, I liked the way he rearranged the tune. The beat was killer, the strings & guitar textures were subtle. I dug it. Independent of this thread, I was singing his version just yesterday. Awesome.

Sure's vocals wasn't on par but his muscial track was on point.

I love Roberta Flack's but I don't like Al B. Sure's version or Lauren Hill's version. If my arm was twisted though, I would choose Al B. Sure's over Lauren Hill's. Andy is a four letter word.

Put your headphones on and listen to the background vocals on Al B.'s version. You can thank me later.
