i vote off "the root"--
though this has been a recent favorite due to its strong lyrics and the way it slowly hypnotizes you, i just have to vote this one off. "chicken grease" was the one song that made this album special at first-- it's just so funky and so different from the rest. i hope d'angelo will give us some more of this funk in the future. i'm so glad he traded this song with common (com got "geto heaven part two"). the album gained from this. the rest of the songs are just too good to vote off-- "spanish joint", "untitled" and "africa" were early favorites. this is a tough voting. don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
