When musicians of different backgrounds team up the results are usually better ..examples:

Jam/lewis and the Human League "Crash"

Nile Rodgers and Duran Duran "Notorious"

Prince and the Revolution

Name some other great team ups.

Nile Rodgers helped to both derail and get Bowie back on track with two great records in their own right. (but most of the stuff in between was rather unfortunate).
