I knew George Michael was gay from the first moment I ever laid eyes on him in the "Wake Me Up (Before You Go Go) video. The way he danced and his gestures gave him away.

That one broke my heart! My mom worked in a hospital and knew some gay guys and she told me one day that George Michael was gay because these gay guys "know their own"... and I told her, they just wanted him to be gay because he was so dayum fine. sad I was wrong. sad

Dre as in Dr. Dre? And M&M? There could be some truth to that. I did some tracks for Dre's label for some girl rock group that he wanted to produce which turned into "Doggie's Angels". I know one of the girls pretty well, Big Chan. Anyway, I heard a GRIP of shit about Dre and M&M (stan).

Also Easy E died of Aids (late member of Dr. Dre's first rap group NWA) and although I suspect Easy got HIV from drug use...when he died I did hear a lot of rumors about those boys... especially they were wearing make up and stuff like that when they first came out. Well Prince has done that as have MJ so I just figured NWA were following suit and just doing this because... confuse Now why DID I think NWA wearing makeup like P and MJ was not a gay gesture?????

No, I don't think he was trying to act straight. The title of this thread says, "obviously gay". Which he was!

nope, cuz the wigstock movie came out at least two or three years before that flick, and ru is gay as can be in that flick. and i remember listening to ru's radio show back in '96 and he was hardly coy about his sexuality during his daily morning show. maybe waaaay back in the early-to-mid '80s, when he was doing his new-romantic/glam thing, he was all cryptosexual, but i think he came galumphing out of the closet at LEAST when he came out with "supermodel", if not a while before that.

Ru is also in Paris Is Burning

About transvestism, or about Adam Ant?

I dated a girl who was insane about Ant. She knew all sorts of stuff about him. I'm just basing this on what she told me. I do know his song "Greta X" is about transvestism.

No, I meant about Adam's sexuality. I thought all that was based on his image or something. confuse

Hey, I could be wrong. Like I said, this girl was nuts about Adam Ant. Granted, this girl was also just plain nuts, so maybe she was just talking out her ass. Still, the guy is straight now, regardless of what he did once as a teen.

I don't think the TV thing was a major component of his personality either. Just something he did from time to time. Then again, he could have just been writing about it as the subject of the song and nothing more. Prince, I'm pretty sure, never fucked his sister, but he still wrote a tune about it. "Greta X" may just be in the same category.

Bizzare thing was, gay culture was SO underground at the time, it really did escape most people's notice. In fact, it touched off a whole "macho" trend in its wake. Most people were actually quite oblivious

True, but Bowie has re-canted his whole bi-sexual thing. He's been heterosexual for quite some time

Yes!!!! He hung out in the San Francisco bay area. His good friend was Sylvester (disco drag queen of "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" fame). He actually sang background vocals on Miss Me Blind, Culture Club. Great friend of Jodi Watley. He did a song about her. NOT THAT ANY OF THAT MAKES HIM GAY. Jermaine passed away, don't know when though.

Haha!!! I can't wait until Queen Latifah comes out. Come on already. I heard that MC Lyte has been with the female costar of the show MARTIN for a long time. I can't think of her name she plays TISHA CAMPBELL'S friend.
You forgot to mention DA BOY I mean DA BRAT. She's admitted to being bi.
